Photon File Validator is really very helpful for detecting unsupported islands on objects and the main reason there are very few failed prints (at least for me). However I'd like to know what methods other vendors (like Form, Moai, etc) are using to detect and correct this kind of problem. Do they have correction methods implemented in their slicers? If they don't, I'd expect to see a lot of failed prints, as it is very easy to overlook a small unsupported island.

Hi,
When a small quantity of resin is spilled on the table, I use a paper towel to remove it and then put some IPA to clean invisible residue. Is that enough or should I use an UV lamp over the area for a period to make it less harmless. If so, for how long?

Is it possible to use heat to modify resin based prints? On FDM I can use a wax pen to correct imperfections and also for repairing broken parts by fusing them. I understand that these are not thermoplastic materials by definition but I was wondering how they react to heat
Thanks

Hi, I am looking forward to recieve my printer and at the same time I am trying to learn ChiTuBox. I own an FDM machine and print anatomical models (bones and vessels) created using CT data from real patients. The method to extract this kind of data is to define a gray scale threshold on the images and discard every other structure in the image. The problem is that bones are not entirely made of compact bone, but also contain spongious bone (mostly inside the bone), which is, well, spongious. so there are innumerable holes inside these bones. I can 3d print these on FDM machines, using Simplify3D's "merge outlines into a single solid model" option. I wonder if there is a similar solution for resin based printers (I have tried to slice one of my models on ChiTuBox and the validator told me that I had literally hundreds of layers with unfixable islands, so I don't think they can be printed in their native state). As a reference I've attached one of my models printed on a FDM printer.

I know this is a simple question but I wanted to ask what happens if you don’t cure your prints with UV. The info I’ve found online suggests that they don’t become firm. If that’s the case, I might opt to not to cure them as I want my prints (vascular anatomical models) to be flexible, so that they don’t break easily. Thanks.

I am on the fence about buying an SLA/DLP printer. I have been using an FDM printer since 2014 and I am really used to larger printing areas (200x200x200), so a lot of the SLA printers on the market don't really fulfill my needs (I'd at least need 125x125x150). The Photon and Photon S seems to be on the smaller side, especially due to the Y axis being around 65 mm. While 65 mm might be enough for printing figures, it is definitley too small for my area of interst, which is printing medical models. There are some larger DLP printers, wherethe Y axis is around 110-120 mm, but they still use 2K screens, so the XY resolution is worse.
My questions: 1) Does Anycubic plan (announced) on releasing a printer with a larger printing area, without loss of resolution? 2) Is the loss of resolution that discernible on prints if you buy a 8.9 inch LCD printer? 3) Do you think 4K LCD monitors will be affordable in near future (mid/end 2019) so that larger area printers with high resolution printing would be affordable contenders in the market? (by affordable I mean less than 1300 USD, as this is the limit if you want to import an item as a citizen. Over 1300 USD, you need to be a corporation and import it with commercial taxes, which is very very expensive).

Hi. Anyone from Turkey using Photon? If so, where do you source your resin from? Many vendors don't ship to Turkey, and even if they do, importing liquids by post is a complicated process, as customs can ask for its chemical composition to be declared or tested.
