Stupid question: but all these miniatures, painted to the tiniest details, what are they used for?

probably already asked. How is the photon accurate in measurements?. I do mostly jewelry design with center stones, where the stone is encased in the head...can be bezel or similar...see pic. my casting company is charging $50 for RPs and cast in metal, usually gold. I email the STL, and received the tumbled casting by Fedex. So far so good, but $50 is a bit too much, + I do not like their gold, very pale if you ask me. I think they have Solidscapes and Envisiontecs. You know, decent company. I have the possibility to do the casting locally with a friend, so I need to print my little models...Anyway, how accurate are the small measurements in the photon? Thank you for your time.

Hi there. Following this great forum. I will be using the photon to make jewelry. How accurate are the measurements produced by the machine e.g. for the seats of stones?

Can somebody list the step by step points in PREPARING a STL file for the PHOTON? I mean, 1- have your STL 2- Enter it in Meshmixer or other program? 3- create supports (AND SLICE IT?)? 4- What is the purpose of slicing the model? is it done prior printing? or the machine does that? 5- Save it as STL completed with supports (and sliced?) again on a USB stick 6- open this ready to print file on the little scree of the photon.....you know something like that. Hi there, enjoying the forum a lot, and learning a lot. Thank you all, talented people. I have a question. I would like to use the green resin as much as I can and was thinking to do samples of my jewelry pieces. I know I cannot cast this resin directly. Can I spray paint the prints in a gold paint, so can have them as samples to show? I believe some people are spray paint their prints with primer....do I need primer or can spray directly with gold (and silver) paint?

To whom It may concern. For jewelry applications, do you think this printer is better than the D7?. Looks like it is easier to use, and I like the idea of of-line printing, without using a computer for it. Thank you. it is 1 yer that I am waiting, and so far the D7 was the choice. Then, came this one, which I feel is the one, However, I am a complete, a true dummy about all this.
