Has anyone tried thermal transfer carrier film for FEP? I forgot that I had bought this A4 sheet a few years ago while I was thinking about converting a B9 printer to a FEP vat. Today I discovered a tear in a vat and needed an emergency replacement so I dug this out. The fine print at the bottom says FEP100 and it is indeed 100 microns thick. You would get at least 2 anycubic vats out of a sheet - or in my case 1 peopoly Moai and 1 anycubic.

The advantage, in my case, is that I can get it locally in New Zealand and don't have to wait 2 weeks for a shipment from China.

First prints after adding twin rail upgrade from Simon Jackson and a new LCD. I had slight z-wobble before but main problem was layer shifts where the build platform was pulled sideways when releasing. It’s now rock solid. Added pics to compare before/after z axis upgrade.

Despite some initial problems getting the printer running reliably (flickering left side of screen) I’ve only had 2 failed prints since. One from resin running low and one from trying to dial in exposure on some new resin.

While printing I was getting random rectangular chunks of exposed resin on the build plate or the vat (or sometimes embedded half way in a print) or parts that simply fell off as the layers were randomly shifting.

Was kind of intermittent so dry running the printer and timelapsing was the only way to catch it misbehaving.

I believe this was caused by electrical interference from either dirt between the solder joints or the proximity of the ribbon cable to the mainboard - it was stuck down pretty tight with tape and was in direct contact with solder joints on the bottom.

Resolved by removing ribbon cable from LCD to mainboard. Cleaning mainboard and LCD connector thoroughly with isopropyl and a clean soft brush - removed adhesive residue (with lighter fluid) from the tape that was holding the ribbon cable to the mainboard. Insulated the black rear side of the ribbon cable with electrical tape as there's no easy way to route the cable without it touching something on the board.

I'm pretty confident dismantling, cleaning and reassembling electronics but I wouldn't recommend this an easy user fix.
