Is transparent or opaque resin harder to work with? I've had pretty good results with clear resin. One problem I've heard of with opaque resin is that models MUST be hollowed plus drain holes or liquid resin will be trapped inside.

But with clear resin this never has happened to me. I don't like hollowing my models most of time so is that weakness in opaque resin actually true?

I'm asking because even tho I've had the printer for a year I've ONLY used clear resins.

It's 30 bucks a liter on Amazon rn. Had to grab some! So far I'm loving the heavy duty bottle, my anycubic resins cheapo bottle cracked on me. Curious to find out how nice it'll print...

Man seriously. After all the issues I've been having with my new Ender 3 I REALLY appreciate this printer that much more. Once I properly leveled this machine ONCE, and got the screw tight and the fep film was set properly every single print I've thrown at this guy it's handled with flying colors. I even left it alone with some clear resin in the tank for like two weeks, decided to print something at random. Resin was still liquid because of the UV blocked windows so I hit print and bam, perfect. I was REALLY expecting it to fail considering it was resin I left there with no lid and I didn't even stir it. I've been having so many issues with the Ender, starting with the damn build plate being not level.

So now I gotta buy a piece of glass to fix that. And I already ruined the default base because the Z-stop didn't do it's job properly and made the nozzle pierce the buildtak surface. Jeez, why include the thing if it's gonna fail anyway? I was right when I disgarded people that said Resin printing was more complicated. It looked easier to me (with just some extra post steps), maybe it's just a case of winning the lottery in terms of build quality with my Photon whereas I lost that with the Ender, but boy is this easy to use compared to that thing. To be fair the Photon is more expensive, but I'm comparing one of the cheapest resin printers to one of the cheapest fdm printers so I think it's not an unfair comparison.

Printed a character I designed a while back. Modeled polygon style, not sculpted. Primed and glued together. Came out alot nicer than my first one but I think ill print one more once my new clippers get here so I can do better with support removal. Overall im pretty happy with it. This is the smallest I could print this too, any smaller and its impossible to remove supports without destroying the fiddly bits.

Insane level of detail here, you can even see the tiny stairs and archways! Honestly it's hard for me to see how having a higher res screen could make even better prints when I literally can press my eyeball up to this and it's perfect! I used Anycubic clear resin with 25 micron, normal exposure 10, off time 1, bottom exposure 50 and bottom layers 8. No supports just flat vertical and I finished it off with two coats of Duplicolor grey sandable primer.

So far the duplicolor is much better. Its really thin, it took alot more spray for this coverage but because its thin it doesnt smooth over details. The face is just as crisp as the bare print!

I was skeptical about getting these for 107 shipped for both at Aliexpress, but so far so good. Gonna print me a storm!

Okay so I think not including a pic of what I meant from the get go last time was a bad idea. So here you can see milky spots on the hair, the shoulder and head. Those spots appear after cleaning with 99% alchohol and water then UV curing for 60 secs.

Maybe the alchohol is too strong and sort of digests the plastic?

Maybe the UV nail curing box I got is too hot and melts a bit of the resin? It gets pretty hot.

Maybe there are bubbles in my resin so they form air pockets in the model that cant be seen till after post?

Im at a loss here, sometimes the milkyness leads to abit of surface peeling.

I keep getting milky spots in some of my prints after post process. Its the anycubic clear green resin. Sometimes these spots seem to lead to pitting, or peeling areas. Not layer peeling but just peeling in general. Whats causing this?

First print. The test cube, epic fail. Im guessing the print stuck more to the fep film than the base so it never got lifted out sucessfully. Is that an okay assumption? Ive never done any 3D printing before so im completely new to this. Any ideas on what I mighta done wrong?
