Impulse experimental print. Hollowed to 2mm. How many different ways do y'all think this will fail? Think I'll wait till tomorrow to start the printing, that way it can run a bit before I go to bed and I can top off the vat.

All this work trying to use the support methods from the video below... and I hit "remove all" in support mode while fixing islands... :( Time for a dinner break I guess. and then to start from scratch. Being able to undo such a major actions would be very nice.

Just started printing again after a few weeks break and I’m getting this sway in my test prints... every thing is tight from what I can tell.

Looked at the price and had the thought that I could probable design and print any kind of tape dispenser I want... something to add to the list of planed projects.

So, with the past few prints I’ve made directly to the plate the bottoms few layers seem to be offset from the rest of the model. The rest of it comes out perfectly fine. What can I do to fix this?

Bonus question: I’ve seen people talk about using Krylon: Crystal Clear for finishing clear prints and I see on Amazon there there is also a Krylon: UV-Resistant Clear which sounds like it might be good for preserving prints. Have anyone used it?

How strong (wattage) of a hair dryer do I need to dislodge supports?

Also, I’m planing to clean the ball joint of my build plate as it was twisting durning printing last time. What all should I do to it while it’s broke down? Clean with alcohol and put some WD40 on it before re-assembling?

I’ve run into two issues I’d love some sage advice on.

The first is that it looks like my build plate is twisting a bit on the first few layers even though I know I tighten it down... do I need to tighten more? My prints came out just fine after the bottom layers.

For the second problem, I think I need to just replace my FEP. There is this strange crease I’ve had for a while and now a bubble has developed in its center. I’m sure the bubble not a protective film issues because I can feel the convex and concave sides of it. I’m thinking I should replace the FEP to be sure I don’t spring a leak, though 1 could also print around the spot like I have been... seems risky at this point though.

I have two general questions about resin.

1) How toxic is it really? I’m sure I’ve touched traces of uncured resin a few times, but I haven’t noticed any reactions. I have some paper down to catch resin spilled. Should I be despising of used paper every time or is it ok to let it dry out. Maybe I should hit it with a uv flashlight just to be sure?

2) Is there a good resource for learning to make your own resin? Don’t know if I will ever want to take the time to do this, but the idea intrigues me.

Has anyone used this resin? Will it work in the Photon? I like the price better than the official stuff...
