Now nothing is printing for me. 5 straight fails. Leveled the bed, made sure the VAT was clean. So confused. Back to basics again.

Ran out of resin for the first time. I could swear that I checked it before going to bed. Cleaned the vat, found a bunch of stuck small particles. Spent about 30 minutes trying to get each one off. Now I am starting a new bottle of resin having used the sample bottle that came with the printer. Using Fun To Do Clear, changed my settings in the slicer for the bottom layers as per the Resin Setting Guide. Started my first print, heard no pop on the 1st layer. Stopped it, there was a first layer :( . Cleaned the bed and started over. I am concerned that I didn't get the FEP 100% perfect. I should have spent another 30 minutes getting every last spec off. Just another lesson in the journey.

Let the learning begin. Had my first user caused failure tonight. Hopefully this will be a lesson to all the other noobs. My first attempt at a print failed tonight. Not seeing anything on the bed I figured all I had to do was try again. This is what normally happens on a normal non-resin printer. Clear the bed of filament and try again. Not thinking of the FEP being where the failed print goes I started a new print. After I realized nothing was on the bed I stopped the print, drained the vat and discovered the first failed print and second failed print on the bottom of the FEP. So I didn't panic, I poured some IPA into the vat and lightly cleaned it up. When I realized that was not going to work I remember someone posting that if you just tap the bottom of the FEP it will pop off, which it did. I followed that up with more IPA to make sure the FEP was clean and did the same to the bottom. Rinsed it with some water and then another IPA wipedown followed by using a microfiber cloth to polish the FEP to a nice clean and clear view. Re-leveled the bed just to make sure, Filled the vat again and now I am doing another print. I am already thankful for the links and documentation provided on this page. Learned a lot tonight and hopefully I am back up and printing again.

Ok a bit concerned. I tried to start a print. Machine was off, turned it on, sliced a new model and told it to print. It raised the platform up a few inches from the top and started moving and up down as if it were printing but far from the VAT. So I canceled, recycled the machine and tried to start a known good model I printed yesterday. It then dropped to the bottom and start pushing against the bottom. So I stopped it, raised it off the bottom of the vat, recycled the power and started the test print of the cube again, that started working properly. Did I do something wrong?

Ok a bit more constructive question and learning. I tried to create this model for my first non-test print and it printed but the hammer is missing and so is part of the face. So I figured I would try again with more supports. Problem is I can't seem to get the hammer to get supported at all (any of the dark brown areas as well). I tried leaning it forward in incremental degrees with no greater success. I figure this is just an experience issue. The STL is from thingiverse. Suggestions as to how to get the supports optimized would be appreciated, but more of HOW to get it optimized so I don't have to ask again and bug everyone. Thanks!

Hey all, sorry I am going to be annoying for awhile until I get the hang of this. Finished my first test print so of course I am immediately on to trying a miniature. I watched a video or two on setting up the model and putting supports in. How good is the auto-support feature? I found areas that I was concerned and added a few supports in (I figure a few extra supports can't hurt). Can auto-support be trusted? Also I am seeing conflicting ideas that minis should be put at an angle (15 degrees) instead of flat? Why is that? Is it best practice to do so? Thanks in advance!

So here is my test print. I submerged it in the IPA for 30 seconds or so and let it cure in my UV nail driver for about 5 minutes.
