It takes the model from the IPA bath, or it gets the cracks again. ? ?‍♂️

I’m tired of transformer sprawl. My new WIP is this 600W supply to power 2 Photons and accessories.

Couple little upgrades this evening.

1: 32GB Samsung Fit Plus USB 3.1 stick. Decently fast. Nice and small. Looks like it was made for the Photon. $10.

2: This little Vonets Ethernet to WiFi bridge that Vinicius posted a couple weeks back. About $15 after shipping from Aliexpress.

Good news: It works, My printer has WiFi!

Bad news: I’m only getting about 250-350kB per second. Takes 15+ minutes for Chitubox to save a 300MB file to the USB stick over the network. ?

I've published my Photon VOC filter design. It directs build area fumes coming from the stock fan directly into a 3M 6001 organic vapor respirator cartridge. Should be a super easy mod to make and install. Print three parts, buy a $6 filter. ~5 minute install.

After installing this I've been printing with AC red all evening and so far my expectations have been exceeded. Can't detect any smell in the room. Maybe a hint in the area 2-3 feet from the printer. Please try it out and give feedback here or on Thingiverse.

PSA: Check your FEP tension semi-regularly! I got a new Photon about 3 weeks ago. At that time I tensioned the FEP at 350Hz,and had ~15 successful prints with zero issues to where I was taking it for granted. Then my last two prints had partial failures. Checked the FEP tonight and sure enough it was loose (~200Hz). Have seen similar posts here before but this was the first time I've personally experienced it to this degree.

I’ve designed something that may be of interest to anybody who wants an EASY way to improve the factory "air filtration system" in the build area (without disabling it as many have done). I’ll put up a video after I’ve had a chance to fully test and photograph it, but long story short I built a duct that redirects the VOCs exiting the build area exhaust fan into the ubiquitous off-the-shelf 3M 6001 respirator filter cartridge. Yes the air is flowing in reverse to how the filter is designed but since we aren’t expecting lots of particles coming from inside our printer I think it will be OK.

You just need to print three parts, and buy a cartridge ($5-10). Installation is dead simple, just remove the backplate and snap the duct into place. Missing in the photo is the bayonet interface to the filter, which is on my Ender3 now, and the filter. I have Ethernet and non-Ethernet versions of the backplate. Shown here with a home-built Ethernet extender using a Cat5 keystone jack. ;-)

"The Aliaser" is a torture test for resin-based DLP/LCD/Masked SLA printers. Every vertical surface contains a pathological case for the pixel array, revealing significant aliasing artifacts in several dimensions. This is useful for investigating how LCD resolution impacts aliasing artifacts, testing various antialiasing methodologies, etc.

The test includes:
- One spherical surface (r=400mm)
- Two cylindrical surfaces (r=200mm) - one with its axis oriented parallel to the LCD and the other perpendicular.
- Three planes with normals at a 2 degree angle from the LCD grid - one tilted Y direction, and two in the X direction (one tapered toward the left and the other to the right).

This test consumes approximately 8ml of resin. Print this in the orientation provided in the STL. Recommended to print in opaque resin to aid in interpretation of the results, but it isn't strictly necessary.
