Hey everyone.

I want to spoil my Photon with some upgrades and I plan to start with the genius PTC Heater Unit by Vinicius Silva .

I have chased down the PTC Heater and the Thermostat on Amazon, but I'm not sure what sort of PSU to get.

I know that Silva and those who have built it recommend a 12V 10+A 120W unit, but here's my thinking.

These PTC heaters are meant to warm up cars in cold climates, right?

I have my printer indoors, so I just need to bump up the temperature a few degrees to a more ideal 24-30 °C.

Shouldn't I be able to reach the needed temperatures with a weaker power source?

The Youtube clip below mentions that it works just fine with a 12V 5A power supply as the 12V 100W PTC heater only needs to work at a 50W capacity to reach the desired temperature inside the printer.

What do you think?

If it's not obvious from my post, I'm asking as I'm quite clueless when it comes to electricity....

I need some help from my fellow Europeans.

I'm looking to print the Photon air filter system by Jarrod Smith, but I'm having some trouble finding a 6001 filter.

I'm trying to source all the materials on German Amazon.de as that's where I will be buying the fan and some other accessories for the printer.

I found the 3M brand filter, but it ships from either the States or the UK which means that the postage to Sweden will be way too high.

Same with the Chinese 6001CN versions.

Are there cheaper alternatives available? Perhaps a different fitting to enable the use of cheaper or more common filters?

I'm designing some heads to go with some Warhammer miniatures. Do you reckon the Photon can pick up details such as eyes and teeth on prints just 4-5mm high?
I know I need to exaggerate some details, but even so?

I have all the tools and accessories needed and I've levelled the build plate to the best of my abilities, so I believe it's finally time for my first test print.
To be honest I'm a bit nervous. It feels like so many things can go wrong! ?

Do I print the test cube without fiddling with any settings? If I understand it correctly, all settings are baked into the STL files, correct?

So I finished building my UV lightbox and I feel just about ready to start printing. I was thinking about spillage though.
How do you guys handle it? Just wipe it up with paper towels and dispose of them in the trash?

I'm considering picking up a UV torch so that I can harden any spilled resin in order to make cleaning way less messy. This might just work in my mind though.

What do you recommend?

Ugh... Soldering is HARD!

Hello again!

I'm going to try to increase the success rate of my prints with a heater and I've just about sourced all the components thanks to Mr. Silva 's guide.

As shipping from China to Sweden takes forever and costs a lot of money I'm trying to find all the components on German Amazon and as I'm a total noob when it comes to electronics I could really use some help picking a power supply.

The ones I find are all quite expensive, so I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right place.

First of all, should these components suffice?

Show me your favourite/highest quality prints from the Photon!

This isn't mine as I'm still waiting for my own machine to arrive, but when I saw it I decided to spend my money on a Photon instead of a Form 2.
It's a blacksmiths forge printed for a 7mm tabletop game called Warmaster.
It's the wood grain that got me... <3
