I just updated firmware to 4.2.12 and started a print. As others have reported, wow the z-axis is sooo much quieter. I also believe the font that shows elapsed/remaining/total estimated print time is a lot smaller. or maybe there is less contrast? I have a lot of trouble reading that little guy now! Firmware devs, have mercy on the old folks please. ?

My method (do this at your own risk, I have not completed a successful print yet. Posting this hoping the experts will sanity check it):
1: Extract all files to the root of a known good USB stick.
2: Plug the stick in and power the machine up. I believe this flashes the update.LCD file.
3: Print the 1-fpga27_V22_101.bin file.
4: Print the 4-parameter.gcode file.
5: Home and re-level the build plate.
6: Profit!

Loving my Photon so far. Now I'm wondering what options are there for bigger printers in the DLP world? I found the soon-to-be-released Creality LCD-003 which will do 192x120x230mm . Heard mention (but not much else I found) about a Photon X. What else is available or on the horizon and what are the anticipated price points?

Was having an impossible time printing these buttons on my FDM printers. Bought a Photon: almost instant success and now they can be beautifully backlit if I print in a translucent resin. Sweet!

Edit: Buttons printed at 20 microns in AnyCubic black and green. They look like production molded parts, I still can't believe it.

Am I expecting too much? The plate should be full. Losing ~20% of the parts, and the worst part is that I must drain the vat and clean the nubbins off the FEP after every print. Is there anything I can do? The bed seems to be perfectly leveled. I downloaded a spectrum analyzer app and my “FEP tone” was up around 500Hz so I backed the screws off until it was 350Hz. Could a too-tight FEP have caused this? Printing this again now after making that adjustment.

Trying to print some small parts in AnyCubic Black with.02mm layers. Used the setting I found in the spreadsheet for 0.025mm (90s x 5 start layers, 7.5s exposure, 3.5s off) but about a third of the parts are sticking to the FEP. The contact area for each part is only about 6mm x 6mm so I am wondering if that is part of the issue. But I do notice that even the parts that do stick to the build plate come off a WHOLE lot easier than the same parts when printed in the green. What are my options? Can tweaking settings help with this or should I just relevel the bed and cross my fingers?

Still adjusting to DLP printing from FDM. It just occurred to me that it must be true that the *only* parameters that affect print time are how many layers, and the exposure/off time per layer. Size in XY simply doesn't matter, correct?
