At work we’re looking at printing working parts and mechanisms. From a mechanical point of view the regular resins aren’t fit for purpose, being too brittle and prone to grinding to a fine powder if used as a friction joint like a ball socket, or any other component that rubs up against another. Now it seems that the material for the job is Siraya Blu.. Which is unavailable (without massive import costs) in the UK. Are there any alternatives out there that will do the same? We do also have a Form 2 that we’re probably going to get appropriate resins for, but we also want to use the more affordable option for working prototypes. I’ve had bad experiences with the Photocentric stuff, so off possible not that. Any ideas?

Bear with me on the rambling. It’s been a long day, and I got 0.05mm and 0.5mm mixed up (it should be 0.05). In any case, here’s a video that will hopefully explain why certain angles produce lines perpendicular to the build plate, and it not being the dreaded Z wobble:

Version 2 of the Tamiya 1:48 Corsair oxygen system. Now with enhanced hose detail. Exposure was just a bit too low, so there were a few bits stuck to the bottom of the tank.

Making more teeny bits for the Tamiya 1:48 Corsair. I’ve since redone the hose to allow for some more visible definition, as these ribs just failed to show up. It’s more a representation instead of a replication of the component. Test fitting it shows it fits nicely (provided I remove the block that was already there). To make sure I wasn’t printing a gazillion little single pixel islands I added a ridge to the back of the hose that’s out of sight for the supports to latch on to. The other part is the valve for the O2 bottle next to it.
