Partially airbrushed (gold),
and partially hand painted (white).
The red parts are the Elegoo Red transluscent resin.
Need to work on my painting skills, it's been decades since I painted this kind of detail.

Received the build plate I ordered from Anycubic.
It is the machined surface version. So much flatter than the one supplied with my photon (anodized build plate).
Curious to see if that machined surface makes a difference when printing.

Have just installed, leveled and set zero. I’m going to try it out tomorrow

I made a Vat storage container.
This way I don't have to leave the vat in the Photon.

A basic airtight box, lined with adhesive aluminium tape.
Two strips of craft foam on the bottom.

Air tight and UV shielded.

Just finished my first print wit Elegoo Black.
I love this resin! Very forgiving when it comes to settings. (Used the settings from the spreadsheet).
And it barely smells, compared to Anycubic and Siraya Blu.

The detail in this print is amazing!
The structure of the feathers is visible!
Printed at 0.05mm @ 13s with 8 bottom layers at 90s.

Seems to work so far...

Did a print with translucent Red yesterday. No trouble at all.

Received Simon Jackson's dual z upgrade today.
Installation was easy after watching the video a couple of times.

As expected the heater no longer fits.
I made a new side panel and mounted the heater to the side of the Photon.
It's not pretty, but it works.
I placed the heater as high as I could but I may have to make a diffuser to prevent heat directly hitting the print.

Just finished my new curing cabinet. Based on Dombi Szilárd's cabinet.

Used the same Lixhult cabinet.
Lined the entire cabinet with "chrome" wrapping sticker (€1.99 for a 50x150cm roll).
5 meters of UV LED strip (395-405nm).
And one Ikea mirror tile (had one lying around.

Seems much better than my old, nail dryer based, cabinet. Which operated on 365nm.

The Siraya Blu scrap piece lights up much more in this cabinet.

I was having trouble with supports failing when printing with Siraya Blu. I was looking through the Siraya Tech website and found a user guide/instructions. There was a picture with support settings by JC Customs. I tried them and haven't had a fail the last 4 prints (small and medium sized prints).

I want to buy a spare build plate. So I contacted Anycubic through Aliexpress. They are asking $45 for a build plate, that's 1/5 of the price of a new Photon. A little too much IMHO.
