Had my photon for a few months, but never actually done an exposure test :/
I know :(

So last night I ran the X3mSnake exposure test.

To be completely honest, I'm pretty lost with it.

I ran resin-test-50u.B100.2-20.photon and the result is the attached photo.
I followed the instructions, set my exposure, then printed the AmeraLabs Town test, but came out horrendously overexposed.
So despite following what I thought were idiotproof instructions, I still manage to mess up :(

I had 10 marked as the sweetspot.
So with that, I set the exposure to 20 for the AmeraLabs test, but as I say, horrendously overexposed.
When I set it to 20, I was thinking "Seems a bit high, but this bit of resin can't be wrong can it? I'll go along with that!"

After the first town test was over exposed I brought it down a bit. Reprinted. Oh. Nothing on the build plate at the end. Maybe I somehow had cured resin in the vat.
Cleaned the vat out, set it away again. Nope. Nothing on the build plate again.

Although, looking back at the X2MSnake test again, I definitely feel that I messed up.
Am I right in now thinking that 7 is the sweet spot on this test?

I'm lost :P

Hey all.
Quick query about Anycubic resin bottles.

I've not had the photon long, but in that time I've bought 3 bottles of resin, on top of the bottle that came with the printer.

The bottle that came with my printer and 1 of the extra 3 is brown. The other 2 bottles are black.

The black bottles are just awful.
Am I the only one who has to put something over the top of the black bottles when I shake it? They seem to leak resin everywhere when you shake them :(
The brown bottles are fine. Not an issue with them.

Please tell me that the black bottles are an older design and they are using the brown bottles now :P

Today has been the longest wait ever as I printed the wings out.
Just the base to go and that’s printing away right now. (Arms and weapons printed, just not in shot ?

Whilst technically not a photon related query, I thought you ladies and gents would be able to offer me some advice here.

Painting.

I've never painted a mini before.
We have a load of GW minis downstairs, but I never wanted to paint them because they're pricey, and when I invariably mess up, it will be replaced at however much GW currently charge for that model, if they even still do!

But, since I can print them now, I have no fear of messing up a paint job.

I've been looking into it, and hoping to go into town to pick up some supplies this week whilst I'm off work.

Now to my query...
Airbrushing.
A lot of people have been raving about how quick you can do a load of minis with an airbrush.
Personally I feel as though I should learn to walk before I try to run, so should learn to paint minis with a paintbrush first.
Am I right? Should I "git gud" with a paintbrush before shelling out for an airbrush? Or should I just dive straight in at the deep end?

So, after wrestling with the photon since getting it, I’m now getting decent prints each time ?
Last Thursday in my anger when everything on the build plate failed, I ended up splitting the fep.
This morning I fitted the new fep and levelled using the flint read technique.
Glorious prints coming off all morning ?

I've been getting a lot of print fails...
Daft question...
And this really is going to be daft...
But hear me out :P It's just to put my mind at ease a little...

I got the photon, unboxed it, put it on the desk where it now lives, levelled the platform, printed.

Here's the question (more of a statement really)
I should have got a spirit level out and checked the printer itself was level before levelling the bed shouldn't I? :P
Going to get a spirit level on it when I get home in a few hours.

Anyone printed any of the Fat Dragon Games dungeon tiles on their AnyCubic?

After some tips.

Was looking at how to maximize tile output, but with them being square there's no real advantage (timewise) in stacking the plate. Can do 2 flat side by side in an hour, or 10 on their end in 2 rows of 5 in 5 hours.

Main thing I want advice on is will they be ok printed directly onto the plate?
If I print the on their end, will I need supports?
