Can FEP film be bought as a roll and several pieces cut to size? Will any other material do instead?

What is the ideal temperature for running a printer. I have located my printer in my workshop and it is not the warmest of places.

Has anyone received a brand new printer only to find that it doesn't work?

Update.... AnyCubic told me to open the baseplate and check all connections. I did this and found that one of the terminals had came lose from the main switch.

Reconnected it and all worked well. Just gotta run some test prints now.

Hi. I used to be a CNC programmer and used Autocad and CADCAM quite a lot. I have noticed a lot of comments regarding some confusion regarding Z=0 and HOME.

They are two different positions on any machine. HOME is were a machine takes its own internal references from. 0, whether on the X,Y or Z axis (or even the A,B or C) is where the starting point of any program runs from.

In this case 0 is the height above the base of the resin vat that allows the first layer, and all successive layers, to be cured from. ie. 0 can be 0.2, 0.3 or 0.5mm above HOME. That is dependant on what you have set your layer height at.

I hope this helps.

Hi. Thanks for letting me join.

I have over 10 years of experience working with resins, etc as I worked in the Aerospace industry manufacturing parts from carbon fibre, kevlar and glasscloth etc. While there we "masked off" areas on the parts and on our jigs and fixtures that we didn't want to get resin on with a special UV-rated high temperature resistant tape (The product looks a lot like Sellotape).

Would there be any benefit on covering the base of the build plate and the metal sides of the resin vat with this stuff so as to give it more protection from scrapping?
