TL;DR: Second print; progress! Still issues with adhesion but improved quality. Help/tips?

--

Hey all! So here's my second print. It printed really good-... what was actually printed. I had the same issue as the first one, on the same side of the bed some things were just pancakes and not adhered to the bed. I did re-level and I thought it was good D:

Also what was printed didn't have a tilted base for the supports or anything. It was perfectly flat, so it feels odd that this would be related to the leveling of the bed. But hey, third's a charm, so I'm trying again.

As for quality, it's improved! Not sure if it's quite there yet, I feel it could be less "smoothed out", but I don't want to risk getting lines. Any pointers towards surface quality improvement are more than welcome! The pictures are my first and second prints, bases for miniatures. The lines aren't as visible in real life.

Anycubic Photon S - Anycubic Green Resin:

Layer height: 0.02mm

Bottom layers: 8

Exposure time: 5s

Bottom exposure time: 60s

If you have any ideas about the adhesion and you'd have some tips on improving quality, I'd be happy to listen! I also wanted to share some progress with you since you were so kind to help me.

Cheers!

TL;DR: I'm a noob, I want to print the highest quality miniatures possible. Help/tips? ☺
----
Hi all!

So I just cured my very first resin print and I have some noob questions, hopefully you guys can help me.

First of all, I reeeally filled the plate with models, but only three, more towards a corner, were actually printed. It's not that they failed at some point, they just didn't adhere to the plate correctly (or so it seems). I leveled my bed following the paper approach; is there any other better way to level the bed? Or do you think it's actually from something else and not bed leveling?

The prints that did adhere and finish are good. I oversupported them, actually, so I need to find a soft spot between having good supports and not breaking the figure when I take them out (it's miniatures, actually).

BUT the quality... even though it's already really good, I feel it's missing something. It feels as if it's slightly "melted"; that the corners aren't super straight but more like smoothed out. I'm using the Anycubic Green resin (the one that comes with the printer) and I followed some settings from the magical excel sheet at 0.20, but I feel it could be better. What can I do to improve quality? I'm actually not sure what the optimal settings would be. I'm aiming for the highest surface quality possible, no matter the time.

If you have any recommendations on resins/settings or on how to approach miniatures in the Photon S, I'd be happy to listen.

Sorry for the long post, and thanks! ❤️
