I’m doing a lot of research before my printer arrives (ordered about a week ago). I plan on using the photon mostly to print miniatures for dnd. One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of different strategies on how to set supports, drain holes, etc, for prints. Since I don’t have the printer and can’t trial and error this yet I’m wondering what people find the best methods for printing minis are.
Do you prefer to print at an angle?
Do you find you need drain holes for miniatures?
Is there a downside to printing minis straight on the build plate or do you extend supports so that the mini’s base is not on the plate?
I figure a lot of this has to do with the size of the miniature and printing something larger like an ancient dragon is going to be more complicated than medium creature like a zombie or something. Please feel free to share your experience/opinions on both as I’m looking to gather as much info as possible before arrival day and print #1!
