On subject of internal resin curing I offer the following. A standard 5mm LED has a molded lens that projects most of the light in one direction. This is not what you want. You can make the LED omnidirectional by cutting off the lens with a fine tooth saw. Be careful not to cut too close to the LED chip because there is a fine wire feeding it. No need to polish the cut end because you want the light to scatter. Pictures attached to demonstrate :

On the subject of curing resin on the inside of prints I show my solution of exposing the inside with a UV LED. I make and sell models of peoples heads and I can't take the risk of uncured resin weeping out of the drain holes onto someone's hand. UV Leds is 100% safe.

Some times even after cleaning with IPA you get weeping from the drain holes in hollow prints. This because the uncured resin on the inside forms an emulsion with the IPA. The UV lamp can't reach the inside so it remains a liquid. I have solved this problem by inserting a UV LED through the drain holes for about 5 minutes. This hardens the internal emulsion.
You can make your own UV light by utilising a USB powered plug and old USB cable. A 147 ohm resistor and a 5mm UV LED. I attach a picture of the circuit. If you are not up to making your own I may be able to help. Hope this helps. Cheers. Bruce

Hi, I have a problem with vertical streaks running through a model but only in a small area. This is a new problem and is in the machine not the print file.

I have two Photons so I was able to narrow down the problem. I thought it may be scratches on the vat base but exchanging the vat with the good machine did not fix the problem.

I removed the platform and vat and run a dummy print to look at the UV image. I noticed that in the area associated with streaks there are dim pinpricks of light that should not be there. So I deduce the problem is either the LCD display or the electronic drive to it.

Has anybody else had this problem?
