i have an ideea/question regarding exposure settings. would it be safe to make the following calculation? 8 bottom layers at 60s, normal exposure 10s for 005 layer height, for a temperature of around 23 C. this is the standard for the Original Photon. for clear resin, or warmer temperature, decrease exposure time by 1s. for smaller layer height (002) decrease exposure by half (10s for 005, 5s for 002). for colder enviroments, increase exposure by 1-2 s. for Photon S, decrease exposure time by about 40% (6s instead of 10s for normal layer at 005). how close am i to a unified theory of everything regarding this? :D

Overnight I had a failure. Looking at it, it appears to be a file write error.

The real issue is this though, for some reason, the Validator is not opening that file to check it. I've re-sliced 4 times. re-downloaded the Validator and Chitubox. re-loaded and re-sliced and same issue.

So, what is up with that?

This post isn’t going to be specifically about 3D printing, but related to it. I am not trying to be mean or rude to anyone, just being honest about how we should all praise someone for their accomplishment and not criticize them for not doing as good or having the same materials as someone else. There is just a right way and a wrong way to do it.

Example. When someone posts their work, and people reply with comments and advice, if someone says to you “Thanks. I’ll consider doing that in the future.” This means that they have received your message and will use that advice when it suits them.

Is you try keep convincing someone by posting half a dozen pictures comparing their work to your own for the sake of encouraging them to get what you have, that is the WRONG way to approach the situation.

When someone thanks you for the input, don’t keep browbeating them with reply after reply trying to convince someone to buy something better, or “those work best.” well we all can’t have the best at the drop of a hat.

Stuff like that gets annoying very quickly.

It makes some people get very upset, and it makes them feel like their work is inadequate. As much as you THINK you are helping someone, you are not.

The internal reaction you are generating in people is “Well, Compared to my stuff your stuff is complete garbage and you should use what I use otherwise your stuff will always look like shit. Trust me.”

Some of us are overly critical about our own skills and spamming comments on someone else’s post with your exquisite looking prints with expensive paints doesn’t do them any good. It only makes them feel worse about their ability.

This is of course not true for everyone.

If someone asks you for advice, then by all means give them advice. Just don’t keep beating a dead horse by trying to convince people to do something before they are ready.

So I ordered an i3 mega from anycubic a while ago only to find out they've no stock left. Is the kossel plus a good alternative or are other brands better quality for value?

For those of you that use the auto-supports in Prusa slicer, what settings do you use? Most interested in the Support Head settings but curious about others too.

I was using the default support head settings and they seemed a bit thick but just had a failure using smaller settings so I'm curious if I went too small or maybe it was unrelated to the settings.

I can't find a definitive answer on this, is the glass on the photon cover uv blocking?

Anyone know what is causing this in the newest version of Chitubox? Some supports want to just be solid cylinders and I cannot seem to find what is causing it. Thanks in advance!

有人知道最新版的chitubox是甚麼原因嗎? 有些人支援只想成為堅實的氣瓶, 我似乎找不到原因. 提前感謝!

Any hints on removing supports from minatures? Im using the flat edge cutters as recommended, but they just end up shattering the minature into pieces, even if im as gentle as posible... ive tried before curing and after with same results. Could it be the resin or the exposure time (I'm using anycubic grey resin, and the default exposer time in photon slicer, 10 seconds).
