I just ordered a photon S. I downloaded the current version of Photon Workshop but it will not open on my computer. So I downloaded the previous version and neither does that one. Chitubox works perfectly fine on the same computer so I need to know if I can use Chitubox for the Photon S or do I need to return this new printer when I get it due to no available software apparently for it that will run on my computer?

I'm looking to do some clear resin printing with dye I just got. But since monocure clear is around 80 to 90 usd a liter, I'm looking for a better price to quality ratio. AC clear is way too temperamental for my taste so what would you guys recommend?

Hi. Is there any noticiable difference between Photon and Photon S in the resin curing times? I have the Photon S, and want to know if the spreadsheet in this group is OK for my printer too. Thanks a lot!

Strange noise from photon.

So my photon has been churning out successful prints for 60 odd hours and hasn't skipped a beat.

I decided to turn her off after the last batch to put new files on the USB and turned it back on. A dull grinding noise started almost immediately and I thought it was the z motor but it wasn't moving. Then the exhaust fan kicked into full spin and the noise disappeared.

Safe to assume it was the fan not being balanced or something more sinister?

Hey all! I wanted to say thank you to everyone who provided advice last week. I managed to get a few successful prints out before the FEP failed. (I think I nicked it when scrapping all the cured resin from the failed prints)

But based on other posts in this forum, I was able to find the information to (1) clean the cured resin off the LCD (2) order replacement FEP film, and (3) replace and replace and tune the video.

I would start with the settings for the Phrozen Grey ABS-Like and tweak from there.

If thats the Elegoo one i personally had to go up to 12-14 second exposure time to get it to work. Believe 100 sec for bottom layers. Havnt used it since and just use the standard which runs much quicker for me.

I used it for the first time the other day. I want to go to 13 seconds. I need to come up with a different post print plan because after i pulled it out of my cleaning solution, it looked like the outer surface of the print melted.

Kind reminder, the spreadsheet is for the photon, NOT the photon S. The S needs less exp-time
(Spreading this message everywhere I see someone mentioning the spreadsheet)
