A rando community question: How come 3D-print files aren't pre-set with supports for resin/filament?

It seems to me that the community could iterate the suggested settings and eventually the most popular/accurate version would bubble to the surface.

Hi everyone! Thanks for allowing me to be part of the group, have spent every free moment reading everything here and getting hyped to start printing:)

Would just like to ask for the group's opinion on which is the better option, the Photon or the Photon-S?

Our D&D group is looking to get one for minis and it'll probably be moved around a little between us, we're looking for the most consistency/stability for minimal fail rates and ease of use, as well as the smell/safety as it'll be in an apartment for some of us.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions and resin recommendations would be great too!(Though we only have access to anycubic resins so probably just the easiest colour to work with)

Good morning. Curious little problem. I have marked in the following images the parts of which not even the base has come out (clean plate). Whether it was leveling or zero does not explain why the other parts came out perfectly. thoughts?

This is my first "good" try after I found the right z=0.
But... Anyone knows why it printed so bad? ?

One more:
I tryed to reprint the same test object. It missed again the z=0, and the print was on bottom of vat again.......
Do I have to set z=0 every time before printing anything??? (the video tutorial said no)

Does anyone have 3dmax that could convert some free files for me into .obj or .stl? They are from sketchfab.com and they are clean and 100% free no shady stuff, I just don't have the ability to open .max files.

Hey all! I've been playing with my photon for the past 2 weeks and have gotten some really good prints! I'm starting to get the itch to print some terrain for our D&D games, more specifically some of the OpenLock terrain pieces found on thingiverse.

I was wondering for those that have printed out entire terrain sets how expensive it is? I know they're reusable which is great but I'm concerned about running through resin like its my job. Any help would be great :)
