Okay! I finally got up the courage (silly I know) to set things up and get the sample torture lattice printing. And...

It went wonderfully. I used the Flint Read method to level. I had to do it a few times only because the Z=0 confirmation message doesn’t match the manual and also doesn’t really match in English to what it should.

That all said, I put it in my custom UV curing “booth” for about 30 minutes [edit] after cleaning with 91% IPA for a few minutes. [/edit] The piece still smells like the resin. Does this go away or does it need more curing time?

Thanks to this group for so much information!!!

So, I've seen a lot of people posting about ultrasonic cleaners. are they that much better than a scrub in an IPA bath?

Hi, I love my printer, even though I have had it a month or so I have not been able to spend too much time with it, but I quickly became aware that I needed a resin that was a bit more forgiving in the brittleness area so that I could print more practical things rather than miniatures etc (I do print those too).
After reading up on different resins I decided to get some MonoCure 3D Rapid FLEX100.

For those in Europe there is a discount in September at FEPshop.com , I got 1l for about €83 including UPS express shipping.
I tried a couple of test prints using one of Monocure's calibration models with some interesting results, the clear is 100% Rapid Flex100 and the grey is a 50/50 mix by volume of the Rapid Flex100 and Anycubic Grey.
I used the same printing times for both of them, 60s for the base layers and 20s for the rest or them.
The Rapid Flex100 initially curled up into a ball when I removed it from the platform but was OK after I washed it in IPA, many or the small details broke away (I was expecting this), it has no strength and quite floppy, also the print was oversize.
The 50/50 mix was a lot better for retaining the small details and the correct overall dimensions (50 x 30 mm), I could bent it and it would return to original shape, though it is quite stiff now that it's cured, the print times were not sufficient I had a lot of post curing to do to stop it from being tacky, I guess that's from under exposure during printing, I need more experience using the printer, but my next try will be to increase the layer exposure to about 25s.

I welcome your comments and suggestions

So, I was trying out Grey Hero 3D printing resin. Printing out a model with multiple smallish parts (too small to hollow). First batch came out great, second batch looked good but after curing (both with LED and sunlight) some pieces are sticky. I cleaned both groups the same (IPA and a wash) after printing.
Print setting for each group where the same. Any idea why the one would still be sticky? I should say they have probably a total of 10 hours cure time at this point.

*4TH PRINT* Today completed my 4th print. to make it 3/4 success rate. Very happy with the outcome for what i printed. Was a long 12H print. Theres some slight nicks where the supports are. Would adjusting support settings help to make them less obvious, i used Chitu auto on medium, do you think light supports would fail on something this big? I cleaned in ipa bath straight from build plate, quick wash tumble then took supports off before another clean ipa bath. now curing.

For those with a messy desk, or not sure what to use for holding that IPA or mean green, here is my £15 wash station using an IKEA foldable dinner tray (£7) and two IKEA sealable containers (£3 - polypropylene)

Cut a couple of holes and then designed and printed out two inserts to line the holes and ensure the containers sit at the same height.

Also, have some build plate dunk inserts (modelled around an Elegoo Mars build plate, but will work with others) that will allow me to lift the plate off and drop it straight in to each tank.

I've been cleaning my prints in three plastic containers, two with 99% IPA and the third with clean water. Today I tried out a tip gleaned from this group and left my kinda-dingy first wash out in the sun to cure.

And now I'm not sure what to do with it. Should I strain it and keep using it? Should I keep it as my first wash or swap its contents with the second wash container? Is it now just slightly-less-hazardous waste that I should dispose of?

Hello Guys, I was recently gifted an ultrasonic cleaner, this model right here: https://toolsidee.co.uk/product/hbm-2-5-liter-ultrasonic-cleaner-P875.html . I can’t find any definitive guide on how to use them, either it's filling a bag with IPA and the model, and then dropping the bag in the cleaner filled with water, or fill the cleaner with IPA and drop the model in. Would love to know some best practices like: What would be the recommended method How long should I let them in the cleaner for.. Should I also clean them in hot water afterwards or should I just heat the water while inside the cleaner, not sure that helps any.. Does the vibrating power matter? Can I reuse the IPA inside the bag afterwards? Thanks in advance! :) 翻譯年糕
