Hi everyone. So i was using my Amcrest camera for watching my prints and it occurred to me that the night vision on it is infrared and was wondering if anyone knows if that is harmful to the print while it is being printed.??

Does anyone know how to open an steady sliced file in Chitubox? I printed a model and the support needs some revision, but I don't want to start over. It's 99% correct, just a few tweaks needed. When I try to open it, Chitubox crashes.

Finally completed my first large-scale print. It's not perfect and I need to make revisions, but I finally finished one!

Hey guys!

Just bought a photon today and was hoping to get a head start on some information I may need to know.

I currently do DLP printing for a living working for Envisiontec doing rapid prototyping, so Im more than familiar with properly setting up a machine as well as setting proper perimeters for resin exposure times.

So what are some things I need to know / do on day one? I ordered their grey resin for figurine models which is what I do a lot.

How is their software? I currently own a Peopoly Moai 130 and am extremely comfortable with their software as of right now and would love to continue using it unless Anycubics is better?

Also have been seeing some stuff about a z axis upgrade. Does anyone supply the full upgrade or do I need to buy the linear rails, back plate, and mount all separately? I have access to mills from my old job but hate going there lol

Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the add. :)

I've just bought the Anycubic Photon and I'm extremely impressed with the quality for the price (I've used Form 1+ printers before and I have to say it's already outperforming in a lot of areas including ease of use).

I do have one question though. I've tried printing a part at 50 microns and then at 25 Microns to minimise layering. While the 25 micron model does indeed have almost no layering, it appears to have squashed slightly in the vertical axis. That is the height of the model and the vertical feature of the model are shorter than the model printed at 50 microns (which is at the correct dimensions from the .STL file.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix? Am I just expecting too much from the poor printer? Is it a slicer issue? Is there a layer thickness where below that the printer just doesn't perform quite as well?

I've attached a photo showing the 25 micron print on the left and the 50 micron print on the right. If you look at the vision blocks on the top of each turret you'll see what I mean.

Thanks in advance.

I’d like to add some kind of heating to my printer so I can use the Siraya resins better. I’ve seen all sorts of great mods, but they all involve wiring, drilling, and other skills that I’m quite prepared to use.

Has anyone had success with a “plug and play” option? I’m envisioning maybe like a reptile heater, or some kind of small thing I can just stick in the corner behind the vat?

probably already asked. How is the photon accurate in measurements?. I do mostly jewelry design with center stones, where the stone is encased in the head...can be bezel or similar...see pic. my casting company is charging $50 for RPs and cast in metal, usually gold. I email the STL, and received the tumbled casting by Fedex. So far so good, but $50 is a bit too much, + I do not like their gold, very pale if you ask me. I think they have Solidscapes and Envisiontecs. You know, decent company. I have the possibility to do the casting locally with a friend, so I need to print my little models...Anyway, how accurate are the small measurements in the photon? Thank you for your time.

This is exciting! I just assembled the first bit of my tank project! I had to go through a good five revisions on the tracks to get them right. Now to test other components.

My first test piece painted. It came out pretty much how I had envisioned it in my head, other than the color of the metal. I need to get a different color. I also need to edit some of the details so that they show up better in the print. This is the arm of Alita from the Alita: Battle Angel movie.
