Those that are heating their resin for Siriya Blu to keep it at 30C, what are you using to heat it? Are you heating the vat directly with something or are you usng an incubator style heater with a fan to heat the entire upper compartment? Do you do anything to cool the LCD?

*RESOLVED* Reflashed FIRMWARE.

Damn. 2 months old and missing the front half of lcd now. Never had any leaks or screen lift or anything. Just out of the blue last night my print was only half the build plate. Is this an easy fix/check wiring? Or do i need to contact anycubic?

I’ve been having some print failures the past couple days. Some of the models look excellent, but others have a strange defect. It seems like certain layers get a half-cured, goopy film. Print 1: https://i.imgur.com/GYIAcxl.jpg I’m using an Anycubic Photon with Elegoo Grey mixed with 25% Monocure Flex. This is my first time using the Elegoo. At first I thought I didn’t shake the Elegoo well enough, but then it happened again after vigorous shaking. Print 2: https://i.imgur.com/pTfRZuK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/dinrgjJ.jpg My next thought was that there was something wrong with my LCD, since it seems to be happening to about half the models. The LCD looks ok to me. Hard to see in the photo, but it lights up the whole square like it always has. https://i.imgur.com/9J0X1ej.jpg The FEP looks good as well. At this point my best guess is that I got a bad bottle of Elegoo. I’m currently running a print with my old combination of Monocure Rapid Clear 75% Flex 25% to see if the problem persists. Test print on the cracked LCD turned out ok, this how the test print turned out of printing the Metalfish Proxy ship model for use in MOW, got it cured and painted up this evening.

Just wanted to share my experiences regarding the new Formfutura Platinum LCD Series Solid Black resin. I have very good experiences with Formfutura regarding their FDM filaments and they are located in my hometown, thefore i though i would give them a go. My two cents about the experience..

So they advertise it as the following;

Almost no odour - Compared to other resins on the market our Platinum LCD resin is relatively odour-free!
UV & weather resistant
Fast printing with short curing times
High accuracy
Vivid colours with an extremely high level of colour fastness
Truly opaque and translucent colours available
No discolouration and/or yellowing
Low shrinkage
Compatible with all open source LCD and DLP in the range of 385 - 420nm

Paricullary two of those USP's got my attention; the odourless and the UV Resistant.

For settings they recommend 14s normal layer exposure. For the base i got it up 80-90 seconds for proper adhesion to the buildplate. Base layers; 4.

Regarding the odourless this is defenitly true if I can trust my nose (and i have very limited ventilation in my printerspace - with Anycubic Green you didnt want to stay there longer then 2 mins). Regarding the UV Resistance - this i will have to see over time. In general the mechanical properties are not wow, but not so bad either. Atleast less brittle then Anycubic Green. Regarding the price - it is quite ok around 35€ for 500g of resin, not really cheap but for me it is sourced quickly and i like to support local suppliers. Regarding accuracy this was actually really good. Also after printing the components had a soft touch feeling to it. I added some pictures to give you an idea on what in printed. I will ad more in the future. Would recommend if you are looking for an odourless resin. Also support of Formfutura is great as always. They let me know they will start releasing some more interesting resins in a couple of months.

Small mystery for you guys. Started print, went to bed. Next day: empty bed, full vat without cured resin. Checked lcd and get full display, not a rectangle. So i wanted to see what happens during a print, removed Vat and build plate and started 2 different files that worked before. when the lcd was active it was always the full display. Sooo why wasnt there any dried resin in the vat after the last print?

So do I need to replace my screen?

I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a week. Here’s what my plate’s been looking like recently. 2/3s do the plate does this while the other side prints pretty ok. Here’s what I’ve checked.

- printed the same file on two printers. Problem only on this printer so files are good.
- tried different usb sticks including the one I use on the other printer. Same issue.
- upgraded firmware to 4.2.19. The video shows what the lcd does. Waves. Reverted back to 4.2.18. O waves but can see some rectangle shapes shining through.
** Important to see in the video two rectangles on the right part of the screen that show up faintly on both firmwares and when running the print file empty.
- checked cable to make sure it isn’t loose. unplugged and replugged.

Problem still persists.

I’ve only had it for a couple of months.

minor crack on LCD screen I am seeing a minor crack on the LCD screen but doing UV project test the image is projecting ok, when should I replace?
