Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » USB

Hi guys,

I downloaded latest Photon firmware (4.2.19) from Anycubic's website and I uploaded files to USB (2 files). I plug USB into printer and power it on, I see the USB lights reading for about 10 seconds and then the printer screen starts. When I browse USB content to print both files I don´t see anything. The same happens in 2 different Photons I own, both with firmware 2.18.

*I have sound disabled in printer so I don´t hear any beep during upgrade.

Second question from a new Photon user: Folks here indicate that I should not rely on the usb drive supplied with the printer. Luckily, mine is working. I say "luckily" because I have thus far been unable to format a different drive to the Fat32 format.

Macbook Pro running the latest software. I format a drive as Fat32, but the Photon refuses to recognize it. My terminal software confirms that the drive is indeed Fat32. I have tried this with two different ones.

Any Mac users with a suggestion?

Anyone have a link to the original USB files that ship with the printer? I switched USBs and I can't find the old one.

Hello! I just bought new Photon from Aliexpress Anycubic store. Printed the test cube from kit usb stick, some of my models sliced with chitubox and stored on other, reliable usb stick and i keep having the same issue. Whole bottom of the vat slowly gets cured. As the models emerge from the vat they tear of parts of that cured layer and come out bumpy. I've tried software update - community 4.2.18 and official 4.2.19 - same thing happens. The resin is anycubic green from the kit bottle well stirred. My guesses are either light bleed or low temp in my workshop - around 17 deg. Please take a look at the photos an tell me if this is how the screen should look like.

Any recommended USB sticks brands that are known to work (usually)? One of the first things I did was get a replacement USB stick instead of the stock one, but with it I'm getting a lot of Memory error code: M_11820 mid-print right now.

Here's what I tried using on the first go.

Hey all and thanks for the add! Just got my photon in the mail and set up. The first test print came out like this-- the middle bar is missing / appears melted, with a fair amount of flash.

Current theories include: fep too tight, crappy anycubic usb, botched bottle of green resin.

I'm very confident in my leveling, but will try to relevel as a test case. Switching usb and updating to .18 firmware.

Before I waste more resin, can anyone come up with a good theory why this would have happened? Why one center bar is messed up but the rest of the model, along all those same layers, is fine?

Thanks! Always intimidating to ask for help. This is my first foray into 3D printing. If you can point me to some kind of cheat sheet of common problems and their fixes, that'd be appreciated and probably keep me from posting too many failed prints! :)

Well another test passed with flying colors! The famous test cube! I use it with all my resins with the same parameters on the usb stick... green is always good grey so so, red not so much still dont know why.. the new Filaments.ca Polyjuice water washable resin did great again.. so yeah fast cure... its even a little better than the green.. yes the Chrome is Allclad ...lol... its so much fun to just wash it in a bucket of warm soapy water... but i still put it in the sun 5min just in case, but doesn’t seem to need it.

Hello Guys,
So after 2 Months (bought on Sept 2 from Amazon) of using this wonderful Printer, the LCD screen finally croaked, not sure why though, I don’t think I reached 20 prints on it (fails and successes combined), anyway..
Seems it's a case of Frame shearing If I'm not mistaken (pics posted)
The print that failed was Artisan's guild free Bugbear Stl, which I printed once before successfully, this one printed 90% of the way until it failed on the spiked club and left that weird drag across the FEP.
LCD test is now a double rectangle. (ss attached) Tried this using 2 different USB sticks: Better Anycubic Photon LCD tester both fail miserably (ss + video attached) Dry printed a test Cube, safe to say it didn't work (ss + video)
Ordered and Elegoo Mars LCD screen from Amazon just in case I can't get this one working again, doesn’t hurt to have a replacement.
I'm currently running Firmware V4.2.12_LCDM.0 / 1440x2500 /F2.7
I'm a bit reluctant to upgrade the firmware since I know that can cause more issues rather than fix the problems, other things I'm thinking of doing before upgrading the FW is taking it apart and cleaning everything with IPA & detaching / reattaching the LCD screen.
Anything else I can try?
Is the screen still under warranty? AFAIK it's supposed to be 90 days, not sure though :/
Thank you! Bump 翻譯年糕

Hi All,

Bought my Photon in November last year from AnyCubic's eBay store. It sat in its box in my office until this last weekend when an opportunity presented itself to create something.

Unboxed it, set it up following the instructions and all was well apart from the plate not tightening up and when I tried to use it the USB port wasn't working.

Contacted Anycubic, Then found this site and the comments about the plug falling out of the motherboard during transit. Opened her up and sure enough that was the issue. Plug back in and USB stick is readable. So cancelled that ticket with Anycubic :-)

Dismantled the print plate to find the reason the grub screw was't working was there was already one deep in the hole.! Using that one the head could be levelled and locked in place. :-)

However. Now the unit wasn't working at all. Z-axis jammed stationary but making a motor drive noise like it was trying, fans not working and main LCD dead.

Contacted Anycubic (again) and their customer support have been extremely rapid and helpful. Sent me a print to run that generates a diagnosis file. When I sent it to them they assessed it as a faulty motherboard.

Asked for my delivery details for a replacement which I gave them and got a message today saying its on its way to me.!! The tracking info they gave me suggests its coming from local so fingers crossed unit will be all fixed and running very soon.

Bob

I'm curious if there is a tutorial or step by step video covering every step. From choosing a file and downloading it properly, getting it into [chitubox for me] and making sure everything is ready to print getting it onto the usb properly and then making sure all the settings are correct for the resin I use. I've never used a 3d printer.
