Is the USB stick the only way to get files to the photon? Also, what is the best way to tune the FEP? Is there some sort of tuning app or maybe use a guitar tuner app?

When you think you had the bed leveled, but it isn’t. At first I wondered what caused the “Photon” strip to fail and have these thin bits of resin everywhere, then I took a closer look at the base and saw that it wasn’t leveled. Just when you THINK you have it correct, you have to try again. I am glad I printed this file from the usb!

Seeing if anyone has experienced this. I have one original photon and two yellow photons. All three are doing this. The prints stop at 99% instead of 100%. The prints are fine. I'm using three different USB sticks. Could it be something with chitubox?

Oh Boy.... so last night I unboxed my photon and set it up .... leveled and all that good stuff. I used the USB stick and selected the .photon file for the test print.... it took forever... so I woke up this morning and after 6 hours of printing I got... NOTHING. There is literally nothing in the build plate. Swirled around the resin and nothing. What gives?!!!?!? Yes, I did do a UV test before I started and it was working fine. Where did i go wrong?!?

So I got the good old “USB memory error” so I changed to a better one and I got it again with a different USB, always when the print is about 97% done, so trying another USB and got a full print but now I’m too scared to try and print anything substantial..... any help would be nice! How can I tell that it’s not going to do it again!?!?!?

Hi all! I’ve just received my photon s and have set it to work printing the test model supplied with the usb stick. I’m a 3D artist and this is my first printer so I’m really excited to finally be able to see and hold my creations ? . While I wait for this test to print I just wanted to ask for general newbie advise. Things I might want to do/ avoid doing, personal advise, useful links, settings, recommend resins, software to dl.etc? Is the software provided generally the best to use or is there better?

The test seems to be going well so far so I’m pretty stoked!

Sorry if this is covered in other conversations.etc. The wealth of information here is a little overwhelming to navigate. I’d appreciate any advise even if it’s just a point in the right direction ?

Another newbie question. And looking back through previous posts, this hasn't been answered completely so I'm a bit baffled.

Brand new printer and I plucked up the courage to try the test lattice print. Levelled fine, did the paper routine, pressed Z=0 and was asked if I wanted to continue. Pressed Yes but didn't get a beeped acknowledgement (Manual said to press OK but that wasn't an option).

Happy with that, I raised the Z axis to reinsert the resin vat, added resin and clicked on print. The Z did not move down into the vat to start printing but began where the build plate currently was. The build plate was so high out of the vat that I could see the shadow of the first base layer in the vat.

I've stopped the print and restarted with the build plate moved down into the vat so I'll see if there is any success but should I have to move the plate back down or should the printer move it to Z=0 at the start of the print ? Have I missed a step of prep ? As the file was on the USB, I assume that the GCODE has all the relevant preparation lines.

experienced so I can find out what the heck is happening :)

Just got an Anycubic Photon and thought I had it leveled correctly. First print is the obligatory lattice cube. As the build plate moved into the visible region I didn’t see anything hanging ☹️

Stopped the print and cleaned out the vat. Below is what I had stuck to the FEP. Popped off pretty easy and I went ahead and cured it.

It looks like the disc came off the print bed shortly after the bottom corners of the cube were starting to be printed.

So aside from the obvious of releveling the bed. Is there something else I should be trying? I used the default file copied on to brand new USB drive.

Mkay. so Photon was working great yesturday. Had a failed printed, cleaned the vat. Went to start a new file, Z axis went all the way down into the vat, came back 5 minutes later to an error message about a corrupted file/usb/something to the effect of the space was empty. The z axis build plate arm was all the way at the top of the rod in its usual resting place. Now the LCD wont power on and the Z axis control functions dont work. I just updated the firmware to the latest version to see if that was it.

Bit confused how a corrupted .photon file broke the thing. I used the group search function but all the reports of similar things were random hardware failures, and not seemingly connected to a bad slicer file.

Ideas?
