So I am in love with the Elegoo water washable resins on my two photons. The detail is good, the layer time is 35% less than the standard elegoo grey, and support removal is easy. With my current process I wash my resin and put the waste water away in a container and my plan is to evaporate out the water from these containers, cure the leftover resin and dispose of it properly. Would a consumer water distillation machine be an option as an alternative? Basically run the waste water through it to "clean" the water so its good enough to reuse? The leftover resin/chemicals in the distillation chamber could be scooped out and cured/disposed of properly. I wouldn't assume the "clean" water is clean enough to dispose of down sink but probably good enough to reuse to wash more prints.

Anybody an idea why my paint primed resin miniature became very sticky in some places and others not?

Is it the primer? Reaction to the resin?

Not Photon specific, but probably useful to most people in here, I'm finally feeling like I'm getting the hang of Meshmixer. This very complex piece went from 4 parts, to 2 parts, to one. I combined the two core halves with the sphere, exported to Netfabb to combine the meshes, and then back into Meshmixer to hollow (results in purple). I then imported the spine, hollowed the spine and combined the spine and core to make one complete piece, totally hollowed and integrated ready for supports and printing.

I did print the parts separately at first and they came out great, but the little bit of warping that occurs in the print process combined with not perfect modeling on the sculptors end meant they didn't align very cleanly, resulting in a lot of putty work. I'm not unaccustomed to it, working on resin kits for decades, but if I could make the process a little easier all the while learning some new stuff, why not?

Finally decided to put some of my favorite resins to a true comparison....not just exposure but strength, dimensional stability, ability to produce very fine thin details, etc.
Will be interesting to see how they all compare side by side. Doing the same parts, same cure cycles, all the same tests on each. I’ll be running the same models in each color as well once I’ve really optimized exposure times.
