I have been wanting to make some changes to my Photon, but I cannot bring myself to break into it right now since it is working so well. but I want to add external ventilation to it. Is it worth the effort and time? After changing from the Anycubic resin to Elegoo resin, there is not much odor while printing which is why I am having troubles making the mods! Anyone care to offer any input?

Have you subjected your standard resins to high temperatures? What ends up happening: melting or brittle shattering?

Bad news, fellow resinheads: Still no antialiasing on the Photon S, even with the latest FW! I just tried reprinting something where I could spot the x/y pixelgrid before. For the test I used the Photon profile in Chitubox with 8x AA (file does actually have AA, i did a visual check and the filesize is accordingly bigger) and saved to a .photon file, which the latest FW can now also print.. But I can still see the xy grid, new print is not postcured yet, but I'd even say it looks worse!.. apparently the greyscale images in the .photon file get converted back to monochrome again!
Anyone else done any testing? Or found another way to get AA on the Photon S?

I use this tool so often for cleaning support marks on my resin prints, polishing surfaces before painting and just for graving.

Used PETG to make it a little bit stronger than normal PLA and the color fits just perfect.

Has any body used the elegoo water washable resin? I have just received a bottle and the instruction on the back of box still say to use ethanol to clean the model. Have they just printed standard instructions on the box and not updated them to the fact it is water washable?

So I’ve been wondering. Some use a flexible resin mixed in with a standard resin for strength and breakage resistance.

So my question is what do you do with the mixed resin in the vat? Put it back in the original non-flex resin bottle or pour it into a nice clean empty bottle.
I’ve ordered an empty 1000ml bottle to dump flex/other resin into. At some point I suspect I’ll end up with a 80/20 mix of multi color 80/20 resin. I’d wager it’s going to be one seriously ugly color. But resin isn’t free, so any alternative would be interesting to hear about.

Is this being too careful? I have a ton of poWerful LED lights in direct view of the printers front door/window. I often have these on while I process and paint while a print is running. Do you think the ambient lighting could affect the resin in the VAT? I just now I took the foam packaging and slid it over the top of the printer to cover up the windows. Unnecessary or brilliant?

So impressed with the detail and quality of prints I’m getting after only a month of ownership. Lately I’ve been using Siraya Fast ABS like gray. Happy with the resin’s durability. It’s far less brittle than the AC green. Here are some of my recent prints. I’ve painted some of them.
