Resin is out for delivery and I’ll run my first file today. Ya! Figure I’ll start with the photon sample file. The manual says to fill to 1/3? I guess I’ll estimate that pour into the basin.
I’ll post results later today..

Hello! I just bought a new Anycubic Photon-S resin printer (that I will get very soon). I read a lot about it and how to prepare for it. I'm a seasoned PLA printer, but I'm very new to the resin printing world...

Here's a list of things I think should get to have a nice and safe resin printing space. Please, let me know if I forgot something and especially if you have better or cheaper option for my list (with amazon link and picture if you can).

Thank you very much for your support!

So this is by far the largest thing that I have ever printed. It's an engine block business card holder. Why is it starting to separate like this? It's hollowed out with holes in it. Exposure time was 10 seconds per layer. Is that just a symptom of something being too large, or the walls too thin? I believe I hollowed it to 2mm to try and save some resin since this was such a large thing. The rest of it came out pretty well. Just some separation at the bottom corner.

Anycubic eco resin. Does anyone use it for miniatures and is it as less odorous as promised? Also, has anyone dialed in settings for Anycubic eco resin skin or grey? I see eco blue in the document and I don't understand the process fully enough to experiment myself.

Thanks.

Hello to all and a Happy new year!

I live in Athens, Greece. On November 27 2019 I purchased an Anycubic Photon printer along with 500ml of resin from the official Anycubic website.

I paid the full amount of $273.99 with my credit card and got the confirmation that it will be delivered in 3-6 work days from their warehouse in Germany through a courier service DHL/UPS/FEDex.

Weeks past by and all I received was just the resin with no Printer to be found. The tracking number indicated that the package was supposedly in Greece waiting to be delivered by DHL.

After multiple contacts with both DHL and Anycubic, DHL sent me an official stateent that the package cannot be found, that it is NOT going to be delivered to me and that I should turn to the sender for claim.

I sent this to the official Anycubic support email, but they are not helping at all. First they insisted that the package will be delivered. Even after I send them the DHL statement, they still send me automated messages saying not to worry because the package will be delivered.

Now they do not even answer my emails.

I demand to either receive a full refund or just resend the printer!

I cannot understand how a "serious" company treat its paying customers with such neglect!!!

Can anyone offer any advice or help on my issue?

Thank you and Happy new year to all!

Follow the photos as you read. Got my Photon "S" a few weeks ago. Ho scale model building is my thing. Always wanted to do proper Victorian trim at a small scale. FDM printers were never capable of detail that small. Resin printers now affordable, time to give it a try. I never bothered with a test print. I just started with a few thingivewrse items. A coachman and a greek temple. Why not? When I saw his thumbs I knew great things were about to happen. I drew a plan in Sketchup for a full size Shaker Sewing desk I will be building so why not try to print it and see what happens. It sliced and printed just fine with stock settings and slicer that came with the Photon S. Rubbing my hands together I went back to Sketchup to draw up a Victorian house with the kind of window trim I have been dreaming about in HO scale. Hours spent learning Chitubox Slicer and just press print right? Not so fast! Weeks of failures spent learning about support placement, print angles, layer thickness vs exposure time and what the hell is voxilization or a Voxel anyway? My basement was too cold for the grey resin according to my cheap Horrible Fright laser thermometer. A strip heater powered through a Dremel speed controller now keeps the vat at 30c. See the photo of the strip heater wrapped around the vat. I was getting horrible lines on my prints until I learned about pixel aliasing. Did not matter what layer thickness I used. A 30 degree twist in the Z axis solved that problem and brought the voxilization to a maximum randomness to print smoother surfaces. Apparently prints with lots of right angles suffer from this. Who knew? A few more lessons learned with failures about needing support in just the right places and I am now cranking out windows and trim the likes of which I have never seen. I now use 0.02mm at 7 seconds 30c temp. Anycubic grey. 3 bottom layers 30 seconds. Models are 30 degrees on XY and Z. I use only light support with cone contact at .3mm for these small items. I am privileged to live in an age where I can now hold in my hands, within hours, anything I can draw. How was your first experience with 3D printing?
