Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » CNC

Hi. I used to be a CNC programmer and used Autocad and CADCAM quite a lot. I have noticed a lot of comments regarding some confusion regarding Z=0 and HOME.

They are two different positions on any machine. HOME is were a machine takes its own internal references from. 0, whether on the X,Y or Z axis (or even the A,B or C) is where the starting point of any program runs from.

In this case 0 is the height above the base of the resin vat that allows the first layer, and all successive layers, to be cured from. ie. 0 can be 0.2, 0.3 or 0.5mm above HOME. That is dependant on what you have set your layer height at.

I hope this helps.

Hello to all photonsters,

I have found out after long tests that the Z-axis gradient can not be quite correct?!
Is it possible to change it in the device or in the G-Code?
So like in the CNC the Gradient correction ? !

Thank you Thomas

PS: Sorry for my bad English

Still looking at getting a Photon, mainly for jewellery. Can someone give me a ballpark figure as to how long say six to eight rings on a build platform would take to print?

I currently mill wax on cnc prototype mills, but that can be real time consuming for things like rings.

Thanks....

Hi. I currently have Roland CNC machines I use to create wax masters in for jewellery. I also have a Cetus 3D filament printer which is brilliant but no good for jewellery.

This is a question specifically aimed at those that have used CNC machines with wax, but have had a go with the likes of the Anycubic Photon. What is the surface finish like. Is it ready to use for creating moulds, or does it need a lot of sanding to make it usable?

I have a great finish with my current setup, but some designs could do with a print in one go solution, rather than multi-sided machining to get awkward angles in. I like the look of the Photon, but have an aversion to lots of sanding down. ?

All help, advice and suggestions greatly appreciated. At the moment I would prefer a low cost solution like the Photon, to see how the process works out first.

Thanks....

New guy joining in on the fun! I confess: it's not my first printer: i sought for a companion for my Elegoo Mars as i'm printing more than it can't keep up with... hence the need for a companion. I love the looks of both printers in their own right; The Mars as a sleek space ship and the Photon as a durable machine (a bit like a CNC machine).

HI Folks.
Just received my Photon 'S'
When I went to the Photonics.org they specifically stated that they did not cater for the 'S' model.
Is there a group that handles the 'S".

I have enough 3D printer knowledge to read the standard documentation and understand where the differences between the two - however it be nice to find a group that can cater for the 'S' Mods.

Current workshop. Tevo Black Widow (Heavily modded), 8W Laser attachment (Specs tell me it's 16W but :) ), C-Beam CNC with 400W Spindle.

Discovered a crack in my lcd screen yesterday. I'm also having an issue with resin leakage from the vat, which is frustrating because I just changed the film because of leakage. Could a dameged lcd result in a leak? Is it simply a coincidence?

So I got it level, easier than tramming my Desktop CNC Mill. Add Resin Stock Green that came with machine. Loaded test print cube and hit the magic GO button.

When it started printing I could hear a popping sound which I assume was some vacuum from the base being printed.

So two hours later the build plate is high enough to see if anything was attached.

Nope, stopped print raised platform and the base with some triangles where stuck to the bottom. UGH.

remove, strain resin, clean, clean, clean, replace start over.

Me - 0
Failed Print - 1

Suggestions if this next one doesn't attach?

I already leveled the plate many times and it always takes off from the same place, I don't think it's a coincidence anymore, I think that part is very large and that's why it sticks to the fep, what adjustments can I make to the slicer so that it doesn't make a layer so big? 翻譯年糕

Need Advise. Looking at getting a resin printer, currently have FFF and also do cnc 3d milling. Seen lots of posts regarding the Elegoo Mars recently. Honestly is their much difference. Don't want to follow false Hype. Thanks
