Slowly making progress
Custom supports are working better then auto supports (mostly)
The messed up parts I didn’t put big enough supports on them....

I still need to dial in my settings more, I think I can get a lot more details out of this still....

The short leg one is the newest one, the second one was waaaay over exposed but the second try still has more detail showing now

After over 200 print jobs taking anywhere from 4 to 11 hours each, most of the time running back to back jobs, I will have to say that being completely satisfied with my original Photon, is an understatement!!! Definitely the best first 3D printer I could have asked for!! Highly recommended!!! My original Photon actually outruns my 2nd printer, the Photon S !! AND... still the least expensive printers of this class and the least expensive resins !!! These pics are just a few of my original sculpts that I printed on the Anycubic Photon !! Hope you like!

New to the group, thought I would post a couple of my first attempts. (Green parts are printed, grey parts are extras from bought kitsch if that wasn't obvious!). Had my photon about three months now, my first ever 3d printer and I'm loving it!

New member question here: I'm having problems with getting the right file type for my Photon printer. It seems the printer needs to have `.pws` files and won't read anything else but Chitubox keeps giving me `.Photon` files.
So my question is how can I get the Chitubox to give me a `.pws` file and/or how can I get the Photon printer to read a `.Photon` file?

extra info:
1) it's a Photon printer (not the Photon S).
2) The firmware number is V3.4.1 (which is what it shipped with)
3) I have successfully printed the test file already, working on my first useful print.

Hey everyone.

Will acetone work as a solvent for rinsing excess resin off of fresh prints?? Or is it not strong enough?? Or Too strong? No idea.

I ha e very little IPA at the moment so seeking an adequate alternative until I get more.

Having a bit of a problem with chitubox and photon file validator. after slicing a file in chitubox and saving it as a .photon, i open it in PFV and run the fix command and then save it. when I reopen the fixed file in chitubox to add supports, the model becomes quite pixelated. I thought it might be the AA settings but ive changed multiple settings for it and theres no change. anyone ever experience this before?

Used baby Yoda to try my first attempt at supporting a figure. After the ear failed I decided to torture test it by putting it in the curing chamber for 8 hours straight and see if it cracked or did anything else and nothing. This anycubic white and elegoo yellow along with some left over resin from failed color tests. It is solid. So to everyone wondering about over curing here you go this test in these circumstances nothing happens. FYI the odd spot on top of his head was me brushing resin to fill an air bubble spot, it did not work as expected.

If I run the (edit:) exposure finder test do I need to clean my vat after or are there nor remnants that could stick to the fep/float around?

I am so glad that worked!

Although I will definitely reconsider using auto supports for small stuff like this.

I definitely need to invest in a dremmel tool for the sanding g process lol using pieces of a 120 grit belt sander strap. It’s working fine on exposed flat areas but places like the tiny hands and some parts of the base got clipped by the auto supports. And some crevices have small support pieces in them that are tough to cut with the snippets I have.

Anyway, that is my first successful print!!!

I am starting a dragon head for my cousin!! Those pics are not the same as the files I made for the build. Just to show what it will look like!! I am doing it in 2 parts and it will take a combined total of about 10 hours.
