I'm so happy with Benjamin Tam's sneaky boi. Printed in Polyjuice water washable resin at 0.05mm later height with his sneaky little bros in all their sneaky glory.

Edit:

Thanks for the positive responses! To get it this clear, here's what I've done:

Slicing- do not hollow. Hollowing diffracts light passing through it (passing through 3 mediums: resin, air and resin) making the model appear more translucent.

Curing- one huge benefit of the water washable resin is that you don't need an UV light to cure which causes yellowing if your cure it for too long. I let the model air-dry for at least 24 hours before clear coating.

Clear coating- this is what turns the model translucent to clear. I use 2 coats automotive clear coat on all sides of the pieces and give it 48hours to dry before assembling. Extremely important: clear coat before gluing the pieces together as noncoated sides diffracts light reducing the transparency. This also has a positive side effect at reducing the yellowing if your prints come out slightly yellow.

Printing- the most important. Use fresh resin every time you print. Anyone who has printed using clear resin probably had a print already come out yellow. UV exposure over time in the vat will cause yellowing and I found that after 8-9hours in the vat, the remainder will start yellowing. Therefore I try to minimize the print time (0.05mm layer height + 10s exposure) by only using just enough resin to complete the print and refill the vat before the next one.

Hope this helps!

Hey guys I got this problem I’m trying to solve with my new prints. I printed two solid copies of the same model, with the exact same supports and Orientation at the same time. One came out perfect while the other had literal holes in it. I cleaned out the vat and re-leveled just in case and tried the models again with the same (but less extreme) results. Can anyone give me some advice to fix this issue?

For those who want's to know how a R_E_R_F file is printed for exposure test on a Photon-S (layer exposure is set to 3s, so the first one is 3s, then 1s more for each in sequence):

Hi everyone, hoping to get people's experiences with SLA printing tougher resins.

Looking at purchasing my first 3D printer very soon. So far I've learnt a lot from this group and love seeing people's prints.

One of my goals with a 3D printer is to design, print and program my own drone. I however am unsure if SLA prints can withstand the physical strains the plastic parts of a drone may endure.

I have seen the Siraya Tech Blu tough resin, which looks it can withstand my requirements. Anyone have any experience with this or can recommend another stronger resin? Cheers

I received my Photon today. It's supposed to have a user manual and extra fep sheet, right? Mine are missing. I already contacted Anycubic, but figured I'd confirm here too.

Having issues with prints sticking to build plate. Using Anycubic gray with 3 bottom layers. Bottom exposure is 30 sec. I've used these settings for about a year with no problem, but now nothing will stick to build plate. Changed FEP recently and printed just fine once. Any help would be appreciated.

A tad frustrated right now with AnyCubic... I ordered my Photon on Dec 27. With an advertised 2-5 business day shipping... I get that with weekends and holidays, it’s going to be delayed ‘some’. I also remember a world before amazon and next day shipping, so I dont expect the world... but seeing as how it’s been nearly two weeks, and I’ve received no updates to shipping, I contacted AC to inquire on the status. I was provided a UPS tracking number, which stated “ready for carrier pickup”. I get slow shipping, but it hasn’t even left their facility yet? Really wish I’d ordered through Amazon and paid the extra $. End rant. :)

If I have an 8s exposure time and lower my layer height from .05 to .03 should I lower my exposure time?

Hey all. I'm looking to try a print for the first time at 0.02 layers rather than 0.05 to get an idea of the difference in detail. Has anyone tried this with any of the Anycubic transparent resins at all and if so could I ask what exposure settings you've used as a starting point please?
