I having some issues with my Photon S. I tried for 3 days now to make it print anything. So I load up a model in Chitubox and put in supports etc. Save it as a STL and slice it in Photon Workshop with the new PWS format. I have set my setting as found in the spreadsheet found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1crvzMnt_8NJXAsABinoIhcOjE8l3h7s0L82Zlh1vkL8/htmlview?usp=sharing&sle=true Line 42, as im using Maroon resin from Anycubic. The bed i level and the homepoint is set as its paperthin like seen in many Youtube videos. The arm is not sanded.
But the result Im getting is horrible and something is wrong. I have attached my settings, the support and the result in the piuctures. Anyone know what im doing wrong? 翻譯年糕

So I got my first resin printer, very exited, assembled it, followed the anycubic youtube guide, started my first print...nothing.

Theres no cured resin in the tank, so its not a case of the print not sticking to the bed, and theres not even anything on the build plate, so its not started and then failed, which is odd.

I did the UV light test to make sure it was working as part of set up and it was working, so very unsure as to what it could be.

any help for a total newb would be AMAZING.

Hi all,

Looking for some help. I've been printing for some time, but recently ran into a whole bunch of failed prints. Reinstalled my FEP, tightened it up to match the frequency that Youtube videos told me too... and started printing again.

However, I've had consistently failed prints, and not sure what's going on. I recently tried to print some little cars, but only 4/6 printed. The prints consistently adhere to the FEP.

Looking for any advice!

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Chitubox error was showing that I had not connected to build plate, was not the case :) reloaded and everything was level

Thank you all for the add to the group I am brand new to resin printers I have been using cr10 printers wirh pla for a while now as all my work is 1:1 costumes and props so they do the job just fine. I now want to move into 1:6 and 1:4 toy and statue making and have some beginner questions i was hoping you all could answer for me as I was told these printers are by far the best quality for the price and all my google and YouTube research shows great quality prints

What is the difference between the photon and the photon S I don’t mind spending the 150.00 difference but is it actually worth it ?

Besides the printer is there any sort of clean up and UV set up you recommend

Got inspired by a show on Adam Savage's 'Tested' YouTube channel a few weeks ago. Printed in 6 peices at 0.02 with PrimaCreator grey resin. Quite pleased with the result, although I think I could do a better job a second time round. Spent a fair bit of time polishing the surfaces before painting.

Im new to printing with the Photon, i have been using Chitubox with support settings taken from vfxforges video on youtube All About Supports. Ive been using default setting for exposure and layer height at 0.5mm. I want to print at higher resolutions on the photon like 0.4-0.1mm layer heights but i don’t know what other settings i need to change like exposure time in Chitubox. Can i use the settings i use for 0.5mm for say 0.1mm?

This YouTube channel is good for basic users that explains how to print 3d objects using an Anycubic Photon printer and a chitubox. There are a variety of descriptions, such as slices, supports, and layers. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6R3CDfw3pQE5VQ8KxrXAFA/videos 翻譯年糕

Today I changed the fep for the first time and now the photon makes a cracking noise when lifting the model after curing. like you peel something off. I thought the resin would cure on the fep, but its printing fine since 6h. the print is coming out nice (what i can see right now). i have to wait another 9h for the finished print.

Does anybody know whats the issue? the fep too tight? too loose? it has to do something with the fep, since thats the only thing that changed.

i used the anycubic video and this one here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr_wtZqBfbQ

got 320hz. 翻譯年糕

I uploaded a new video on how to take a figure you already like (or love) and improve it by adding or subtracting things in 3dbuilder (would work the same in Meshmixer if you use that). Pic of before and after and the actual printed model is below. Feature a model from Stanislav Kuznetsov. That video is: https://youtu.be/5QBS3hxQTkQ

It's really easy to do so check please check it out!

Also, added another video about support placement that is starting to get a bit more advanced. It shows the first part of supporting the Umber Hulk proxy (pic below) from Artisan's Guild. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR-0tbBbyXk&t
