Oops

Edit : TLDR, feps got damaged, can I keep going or do I need to replace.

If you're positive your fep doesn't leak and you can move your prints around so that they're not printing in that area I'd say you can try to go on with that fep. Take some precautions tho: tape your screen edges and put the whole printer inside a platter or something similar.

the most important thing yo need to do is get it out of the kitchen and vent it proparly you dont those particles in your kitchen bud! you need replace the fep as well as that dink in ot will mess the tension up

its not actually in the kitchen! when the kitchen was installed the preexisting worktop was in pretty good condition so my dad put it into his little workshop area out by the back door :)

I have that FEP leakage problem...ruined the UV screen! Now, I have to replace the screen and fix the FEP leakage.

I have looked at online stores before and FeP isnt something I have bought before so the choice is a bit mind boggling.

I was saved by reading this group as I had already added kapton tape around my screen seals as a precaution and the mess was completely contained!

big prints fascinate me and terrify me at the same time, never done one and am not feeling very confident!

I want a Bust to paint, never done one before so would be a good experience, but I dont know how to print it! as i said, it scares me lol

This model is hollow but the hole is on the bottom of the base, is that going to be a problem?

I prefer larger prints. You may want to put a few holes in the bottom, but they won't be a problem if you're adding supports under it. Also, tilt it back just a little so that flat bottom doesn't print all in one go.

not that many tbh, mostly the arrow fletchings and the braid bottom.
the ear lobes are floating though and the software wont place any supports there, manually or automatically :L

You could print her way bigger, turn her sideways and add some supports, hollow with 3-4 holes on the bottom I bet you could get her to 5-5.5” tall

Here is my workflow that I have for models like this

1. Hollow with chitubox and add some holes to prevent suction cupping preferably the bottom layers towards the plate. And export stl.

2. Open in prusa slicer and lean it back as to prevent supports on the face and to prevent a large flat surface on the plate. Refer to the beginners guide if you want more info why. Then add auto supports in prusa using the basic settings. reorient till you’re happy with the supports and export stl with supports.

3. Import hollowed stl with supports into chitubox and slice then look through the slice for any large islands and ad manual supports in chitu as needed. Once done take slice to the machine ?

Ps use really hot water to separate the supports after ipa but before cure

I've had issues with holes on the bottom blending with the surrounding base, so make sure it's fairly large, I'd say 3 or 4mm. Tilting isn't necessary but will help drain as it prints instead of after.

Printed some Jerry cans that i designed.
Printed it straight on the build plate and for skme reason the dimensions are different. Even though it's the same piece?
Left was printed on its bottom and the right on was printed on its back.
Amy ideas as to why this has happened?

right the ongoing saga of my printer being a shit is, well...ongoing

Yesterday it would start printing then either straight away or after completing the first layer it would stop printing and return to the home screen.

I have tried 4 different USB sticks and it has done it with every single one now.

Could this be a firmware issue? anyone else had this problem and found a solution for it?

Need this fixed and any help would be much appreciated

So my printers being real dumb today.
I did a print earlier this morning and no problems.
Started the second printer and went back later to take the finished print out and found it had done maybe a layer or 2?
It seems to be restarting itself.
Really not sure what's going on, going to reload the print file and give it another go, see if that is the issue.
Is anyone else has any ideas your advice as always is deeply appreciated!!!

biggest print yet, ending in failure

Just thinking about what could have caused it to fail and in such an odd manner...

here are the settings I used and photos of said failure.

It looks like the right side failed to adher to the build plate, the center sort of did and the left fully adheared to the build plate.

Replaced the Fep recently and have had a few successful prints since then.

I am thinking that I may need to increase the base layer print time? or could it be that some parts were hollowed and others were not, or the positioning of parts? my last post someone said that I should have the tallest parts in the middle of the build plate.

Thoughts? as this one truely has me befuddled
