Anycubic White resin - what is ideal exposure time? On Aliexpress is 6-10s, in Google Sheets is 8s and 15s :D What is the best?

Hello! I’ve been attempting to print a set of polyhedral dice and I’m consistently having the bed sides of the dice turning out sort of melted looking.

I’m using Elegoo Clear using the settings from the Resin Setting Google doc (17 normal, 1 off, 60 bottom, 8 bottom layers). I’ve tried a couple different orientation/support combinations.

1) no support/raft + flat face of each die on bed. This resulted in the bottom face being blank, some wobbly bottom layers, then the rest of the print looking really good.

2) auto generated supports/raft + dice point down. The point touching the point touching the supports and the connected faces came out looking melted, the rest of the print was perfect.

My suspicion is that maybe the first chunk of each die is transparent enough for the uv to cure some of the surrounding resin on the bottoms. As the print progresses, less uv makes it through the cures resin and the quality greatly increases.

Does anyone have any ideas? Should I just not use transparent resin for this? I’ve had really great success with a number of other prints, but this one seems to be eluding me.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I work in a research lab and we have had our Anycubic Photon printer for only a few days and now the Z axis will not move, the LCD screen does not come on when performing the UV exposure test, and the fans do not come on at startup. After some google searches, I’ve found that this seems to be a fairly common problem. I just contacted the company but have yet to respond.

Does anyone have any wisdom to share? I just joined this group, so even directing me to another post would be helpful!

I'm having a lot of bad luck with my prints. I've gotten one successful print of this model in about 7 or 8 attempts, and that was the very first one. In this batch of three, one had the left arm flattened, one had the right arm flattened, and one had the right elbow flattened. In other batches, the right arm shifted, was flattened, or the bottle in his hand was flattened. These latest three were rh through the Photon File Validator before printing.

This is Elegoo Grey. 8 base layers at 50s, regular layers at 12s, off time 6.5. Assuming I'm reading this correctly, my firmware version is 4.2.3?

Am I doing something wrong with these prints? I've leveled my bed the "user manual" way a few times and the Flint Read method once (the most recent leveling attempt), and that seems fine. I know this model can turn out okay as I've printed it fine one time, so this just baffles me

EDIT: It also looks like the cloaks and left elbows had some failures. I can post my support settings shortly (Update: posted)

EDIT 2: Added pic of an older failure where the arm/bottle was flattened and it looks like part of the other arm was briefly affected at the same layer(s) as well

EDIT 3: It looks like all of the failures are where the model separated from supports. To help diagnose the issue, I've added my support settings, stolen from https://docs.google.com/…/1fHvgkgr5lavHzdf2mHjA_q68Zoc…/edit

File validator was perfect except for 1 point. I add a support to that point and re-run the validator.

This time it raises a bunch of issues, which I don't understand why are issues.

Some of the points it's raising simply don't look like islands, for example, the point below is just a small point on a larger body that is all connected to supports.

Slice file is here (Facebook didnt like uploading direct for some reason).

TLDR; Each mini is $0.13

Might be of interest to some of you! I calculated the cost of each resin mini. Lots of possible error. Feel free to ask questions.

Biggest issue is that this neglects supports. I hardly use any supports, and I print flat to the bed. So for me this is fairly accurate still.

So I've just got the Photon S and I've leveled the bed a couple times but each time I keep getting this issue with prints. I'm using the default setting to try to print a model with the standard green they ship it with. Then I tried the settings here

https://docs.google.com/…/1crvzMnt_8NJXAsABinoIhc…/htmlview…

So is it because I'm just leveling it wrong and should just use this thing https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3096818 or does anyone have any tips for it?

Let me see your settings for Siraya Blu. The Google doc spreadsheet isn't cutting it. I know my bed is level, height is good, and temperature is fine . My Anycubic Grey and Green do fine but I just cannot seem to get the Blu to print at all.

I am using my photon on the balcony inside closed cabinet (no external ventilation) like this one: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40363621/
It is working very well but it still has some small holes, it is not hermetic, so I can feel some low smell when it is printing and some time after printing. I removed internal fan by the way.
I am researching the way to put my printer to hermetic enclosure, like small fridge or smoker - something like that https://www.google.com/url…
I am not sure if the smoker is hermetic, but the fridge definitely is.
I plan to open the enclosure only twice per printing cycle (I have Wyze camera inside and can watch it remotely) and make all cleaning operation in the well ventilated shower room. When it is not printing, it will not bother my family and neighbours.
What do you think about this direction? Will it work well without external ventilation?

Printed this dice jail for my wife last night. Aside from a royal pain in the a$$ to get off the plate, I have this odd white discoloration. Any ideas what caused? It's the Anycubic Black resin and I used the settings from the Google doc.
