So I decided to do a little experiment. I've read the comments multiple times about leaving prints in IPA too long can cause cracking and also read the article from a resin manufacturer and the test results they got. They did say it varies from resin to resin but I've only ever used Anycubic resin and I've never noticed cracking from soaking in IPA for too long.

I generally try to shoot for 5 to 10 minutes but there's been tons of times I forgotten about it overnight for several hours. Never seen cracking or any negative effects from doing so.

So over the last three days I conducted an experiment of soaking a miniature in IPA for 72 hours straight. I took photos at the 6 hour mark in comparison to one that was only soaking for 5 minutes. Another picture at 24 hours. And final 72 hour mark.

Now to be clear I'm not suggesting or recommending you should soak your parts for 72 hours I'm just sharing my experience and decided to do my own tests using anycubic resin. To confirm my results there is absolutely no cracking from soaking IPA for a few hours let alone three days.

If you would like to make your own test using a different resin and share your results I would be interested to see.

These prints are extras/scraps, so no effort in clean up of supports was taken, they were printed at the exact same time and are more or less the same shape just a different pose. They are regular 28 mm scale printed solid at 0.05 layer height. And the resin colour is a mixture of any cubic orange, skin, aqua blue, clear and transparent green lol

Has anyone else had this happen to their prints? These "gap" lines happen randomly, and it's usually only 1. They are sandable but I do loose all fine surface detail obviously. It's happened on a bunch of prints on both of my Photons. I use ChituBox 1.5 and I've seen some have semi similar results. I'll try to clean the zrod again but it's so random and I don't see this in the photon file checker either. Any tips?

Hey everyone! I am here today with a question about how to print nice flat surfaces in order to print multi-part pieces to glue, or otherwise adhere together. I found an awesome model that I just had to have (purchased), but the model was too big to print to my liking as it was, so I watched some tutorials on how to separate models in Meshmixer, and after many many attempts was able to cut the model to, what seemed to me, nice easy to print pieces. Printing went well--I didn't notice any supports that became disconnected from the models, and I am satisfied with the detail, but as soon as I removed the supports I quickly realized that many of the flat surfaces I had created were far from flat once printed. The link below has my slicer settings, a GIF of my build plate layout, as well as some (pretty terrible, sorry) pictures of the model glued together. If anyone has any tips on how to achieve flat mating surfaces I am all ears! This was an 8 hour print, so I am not going to re-attempt this until I am confident I can achieve a better quality print than what I have now. Thanks for looking! https://imgur.com/a/uBcxUDm 翻譯年糕

I hate to bring this up...but can we PLEASE have an FAQ or something of the like pinned up top? This is where I really miss web based forums. Its getting really, really old seeing the same exact questions (photon vs S, what is resin? Can I breathe it? etc...), multiple times a day. I know, we are all exited about our new toys, but it really plugs the page up for those of us requiring specific help. This is a fantastic group, with some really knowledgeable and helpful folks, but there is a search button on the left side as well..

Hi guys.

New Fep screen replacment screen that came with the photon. Only used twice and its cactus. Hahahaha.

Failed print using small surrports have changed upper dimensions to match lower dimensions and contact tips. Do I need to change anything with dimensions for contact tips and dimensions. Cheers thanks.
