You double it. It's displaying 2x each number there when printing the test card, so if 7 looks best it's because it was exposed for 14 seconds.

I didn't look at your test card, you need to use 2x whatever the best looking number is tho. Good clear resins aren't very fast. Fast clear resins yellow a lot more

I’ve never really found this test matches up with what I end up running for clear. Monocure clear runs beautifully at 9s for a .04 layer yet the exposure test told me 14s...I’d strongly recommend running a calibration model and see where your settings look best with that: here the 12s is already showing overexposed whereas the 9 is crisp and clear...and Anycubic yellows fast compared to the Monocure

Mika Gruszka It takes under 45min to run at .04, chose an exposure (I only do like 3 bottom layers, just enough so it sticks) then keep dropping your exposure watching closely the features...you’ll know you gone too low it that bridge area above the word Monocure shows delamination like this one

So I should reprint this with lower exposure each time?

Mika Gruszka Yep. But the nice thing is once you’ve done it unless you change resins you don’t have to do it again. I’ve kinda learned where to start and only have to print 1 or 2. And the only thing you want to change is the regular exposure...unless what you are testing is bed adhesion

I have had one for 2 weeks now, for me it saves space, saves time, gives better results and makes the whole process mech simpler, cleaner and gives better results. No real downsides unless you can’t get hold of enough ipa/meth to fill the tub

I keep forgetting what meth is short for in this group.

Benefits:
- Much less hassle than my previous set up of a magnetic stirrer in a small container.
- The impeller is much stronger at moving the fluid and ends up much cleaner than before. The reverse spin halfway through is awesome.
- It's nice to be able to hang the build plate to clean it at the same time as the print.
- The curing is well done too. Wavelength is correct, wattage is strong, turntable and timer are nice. My previous set up was a solar turntable and an LED strip in a bucket.

Overall, it's more streamlined, less effort, better result, less messy, and less space than the previous set up.

Only downside is finding a place to store the basket or build plate holders and turntable when not using them, but that's something I can design and print.

Takes up less space than two pickling jars and a make shift curing box in my case.

I love mine. I got by with ultrasonic washers and homemade light boxes but this is so much simpler and streamlined.

I think those points are literally in those videos... I know that sounded rude but, videos are better testimonials that have our words misinterpreted or not stated well enough

It’s incredibly expensive and you can do better for the same price and a bit of elbow grease.

LCD replacement. Used to be cheap...now not so. Amazon usually have them

i'm just going through the same thing - 3d jake have them instock and 4 day delivery for £55 - damn expensive in my view but seems to be the only option

Richard Webb I ordered this one which arrived this pm. I just need to watch a couple of videos now to figure out how to install.

thats different to the photon S screen it uses and LS055R1SX03 ( not SX04 ) the wire is different . not sure if anything else is different - but it will be interesting if it works. keep me informed please

just found the item and watched the video in the comments - BUGGER ! it comes with an adapter from v04 to v03 !.. please do let me know how it goes for you and I'll order one in as a spare !

So I’m curious, whats the likelihood that a screen cable would get detached if printer is not moved?

I mean to me based on the OPs statement that he’s had it for about a year, i would have instinctively said his screen was going bad. At a year old I’ve heard of people having to change screens after maybe 6 months.

Richard Webb uhm, I fiddled with the lcd screen on my photon s, I pried it to see if I can easily lift it out, it was quite hard and I couldn't manage it. I then decided to test the lcd again and oddly it seems to be fine, checked it a few times by using the exposure test and it's fine. Will try a print tomorrow and see. No idea why it is suddenly okay?!

I saw a number of posts saying that, and also that it started doing again after a short time. But fingers crossed for you. I found the easiest way to get the screen out was to push it up from the bottom, but there is a lot of dismantling to do that

Gary Slovinsky I double checked, I actually got the printer mid December 2019 so 3 months of heavy use. However my lcd screen appears to be okay at the moment, re-tested it after I tried to pry the screen off without success.

Patrick Harland if your screen appears fine now. Is it possible it was just a bad slice?? I’ve been known to get that on rare occasions with a FDM printer.

Wish I could give you advice on screen removal, I’m still on my original screen. I think I’ve heard it’s held in place w/double sided tape.

Mine has just arrived from 3djake. It is an 04 screen with the little adapter already attached !! Feel like ive been scammed !!!

Levelling, ensure the plates cleaned with IPA and dry

Check you build plate is truly flat. Don’t sand it if it isn’t contact support. Just make sure it’s flat. If it is, leveling. Assuming lcd test is all good.

Add a few seconds to base exposure time if your bed level attempts don't improve it. Last resort change base type from "skate" to "cylinder" in support settings, helped me and a few others

Yes, it typically just pops off. The glue you might be thinking of would probably just be dried resin that seeped in between the fep and the tension plate

Alfons Gunnesgård no, I wouldn't. You'll need to replace the FEP every now and then

Alfons Gunnesgård yes. With all those screws, the FEP acting as a gasket and the recessed track you screw the frame to, there shouldn't be any leaks

According to Anycubic advertising, it should be possible to change the fep film.

Dåligt att det inte är som på Photon maskinerna att man bara kan byta filmen utan behöva köpa ett kit som fördyrar för kunden, sen är det frågan om det skulle det gå att använda Photon behållaren med lite modifiering. Har själv bara bytt FEP film en gång och har säkert kört upp 15 liter resin, filmen kan se hemskt ful ut men det funkar ändå.

Luke,maybe try the previous exposure setting and lower the lift speed..if peel and adherence were why you changed ?

Merv Hinton I will change gradually. I haven't printed since last summer, re leveled before I did this print. Lift speed is a good idea

I’d definitely lower your regular exposure: ONLY the base exposure does anything to help adhesion to the plate...raising bottom exposure, lift speed, and cleaning or even scuffing the plate are all things to help it stick.

Absolutely Luke,one bit at a time..so you know what worked.. Granny / Eggs / Suck / Apologies but never hurts to tick the list..

Try a plastic blade to scrape it. I have a similar issue that occurs on my other printer a d the only way I've found to remove resin from a screen is with a blade, but a metal one will scratch up the screen.

The only reason I could thing to replace them would be so you could see how your print is doing but even that's not a good enough reason to care

Razor blade scraper may do it

It blocks more light getting in that way!

They're so cheap it's not even worth trying to print it. Just search Amazon for plastic blade scraper. I use them for removing prints off the build plate and they're great for it!

Angelus Mew Ellis the thing I'm talking about is like a plastic razor blade rather than an ice scraper. Come to think it it'll probably do an awesome Job of getting ice off too!

Masking tape the plastic cover and spray the window black, then spray varnish if you want to make it Sci fi and shiny. Also blocks light properly. Don't trust the little yellow plastic windows if your print is sitting finished for a long time

Do not use acetone... I did and it makes the window cloudy.

Anyone has idea where to get photon s spare wondows... mine are ruined aswell...

Buy a new sheet at your local hardware store, cut it to size and drill the holes, paint it black, install.

Remove window, soak in ipa

Use Ipa and a razor blade to carefully clean it. It will take a while, take your time. Do a little everyday.

As long as it still blocks light there's no real issue

I'd just leave it. If you find it unsightly, cover it over with some stickers or contact paper.

Cody Ray Pierce wont work on the S. Windows are snap in custom made. Totally different than the OG.

I can draw die lines and upload them this evening for laser cutting. I could make them for anybody who would like feel free to pm me. I dont have the colored acrylic so i’d need some time to get it. Just pay the cost of acrylic and shipping.

Had the same thing happen, I removed the plexiglass and soke it in denatured alcohol over night then a hard scrub. Came off

Because I was an idiot and as I was getting my first print out is when I first noticed but was more interested in following a process for cleaning and curing it. Only decided to wipe it clean when it was way too late. oh well if this is the worst....

I managed to recover mine by sanding with 1500 grit paper and then polishing with Kaol. The resin is too harsh for some plastic and plexiglass. It is not a matter of cleaning, unfortunately.

I think I overfilled the vat; also it became worse as I attempted many different methods to clean it. In short as a noob I was a "dumbass"! Good news is I am much better now; what a difference a week can make

if it makes you feel better the first time I printed something with the photon i dropped the plate corner down onto the LCD and fep sheet and resin started leaking all over my new printer bc I have the fine motor skills of an infant.

fantastic feedback and support from the various forums is what makes this hobby great!

Take the screen out and get as much off with IPA as possible, don't use a blade to scrape it off or you will scratch the plastic. Use rubbing compound first over the whole screen to get all the resin off, it will now be cloudy. Use t-cut to get rid of it being cloudy then use polish and make it shiny again.
