Hi all, hope you're all staying healthy and doing lots of printing.
I have a favour to ask- I am trying to print a 40k model but the file is too high resolution for my PC to handle- its 290 megapixels (my laptop is over a decade old, Chitubox is not it's friend).
Would anybody be able to take the file and hit lower resolution a few times in their software? Would be eternally thankful/ happy to repay a favour!

It would be extremely helpful thank you. Try whatever is easier, whacking the lower resolution button a few times or whacking supports and slicing. I would be more than happy to return the favour/ print something!

Yes I was hoping with more people at home there would be more printing time! I should say I have the Photon S!

I have a OG photon but can still slice for you. currently printing with the ender for some mask stuff for the hospital right across the river.

Dan Barca I don't actually know how to use the "lower resolution " button, will a slice file work for you? And don't worry about returning the favor, I'm pretty new to printing myself :)

Andy Turtle Consiglio lowering the resolution would be done in a different program like blender or Zbrush or mesh mixer. If you just have Chitubox, could you whack on supports and slide for 0.04mm, 8s layers please? I would be eternally grateful!

Hi all, slight issue- over-tightened the grub nut holding the build plate level. Will get a new Alan key tomorrow as this one is circular and no longer hexagonal so I'm hoping a new good one will have enough grip to open it up. If not, has anyone succeeded in drilling it out like on a regular nut and bolt that's sized? Also n.b. Didn't tighten that much on purpose, I had to leap to stop my cat diving into the resin vat whilst tightening! Animals gonna kill me

Hi all, does anyone know where I can find an old firmware Version for the Photon S? Updated to the most recent on Anycubic's site to get around the purple banding/ screen failing, but hasn't resolved! Started a ticket with Anycubic too as I'm still in screen warranty but here's hoping I can fix it!

3 prints in a row now, I get these straight lines in the failed print- and the resin has cured in completely different spaces to the 6 small objects I had spaced evenly on the bed! Any ideas??

Good evening all! Firstly, thank you to all on this group. So helpful with learning this work, it becomes very rewarding knowing others are at it too. Had a very different print fail today, after dozens of successful prints. I clean and re level my Photon S after every couple of prints and filter shake and re pour my resin after every few. Print settings included. Fire away!

good afternoon all. I need to print a robot housing to close to original dimensions as possible. is there a way to work out expansion/ contraction of the resin? is there a general percentage that is off by? or does a slicer like Chitubox compensate?
Printon on Photon S at 21C, can print in grey or clear green.
