Taking a tip from the saying “when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail”, I decided NOT to 3D print a funnel holder for my resin. I had some PVC pipe and joints laying around, so I crafted one that works well.

I do not need to create a holder for the vat, as I use a little rubber scraper and scrape the resin out in a couple seconds. Anyway, this works well, so I thought I would share. I do prop the back of it a bit to help it lean over the bottle.

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if there are dentists in this group that uses the Photon S for printing models, guides, splints...etc.

1. Which resin do you use?
2. What setting do you use to print the appliances to get the accuracy?
3. Which software do you use to modify the STL? Is meshmixer and Anycubic Workshop sufficient?

I had to replace my photon screen so I bought the one off Amazon everyone suggests and after installing I have two squares off on the left side. Is the screen faulty? Did I possibly install it wrong?! I used the adapter that came with it? It seems to print fine except that area just prints the squares.

I made this video for all of my friends on model building pages who don't have access to 3D printers.
Simply put it's nothing but a stack of images flashed on a cell phone screen underneath the clear vat out of resin that starts out attaching a foot to a metal plate that moves up and down in what's known as the z axis hundreds or thousands of times until the sliced model is built.

So I had to replace my screen. In doing so I accidentally knocked lose the ribbon to the build in control LCD screen of the photon. I have to get longer Metric T-Handle Hex Key Set tomorrow to be able to take the mother board out to to reset that wire properly.

Is there a place for this group that has a list for suggest tools and stuff to buy for working on the internal guts of your Anycubic Photon? Thanks in advance! ?

Ok so I finally got to use my sonic mini today and did 2 prints just fine. Then printed some other stuff to compare to prints from the photon s I have. I love it since it’s so much faster.

However, somehow resin splashed on the case/lid, has 2 small cracks on the case/lid, and the vat is cracked in a few places. I did a quick google search for a metal vat replacement. No luck.

I was seriously ready to return the photon to Amazon I have 5 days left and then I was going to buy another sonic.

Any suggestions to remedy this? I really want this one. But I print constantly and can’t replace plastic vats every day.

EDIT: haha I’m stupid that wasn’t splashed resin it dawned on me last night taking the lid off how the resin got there. I set it upside down and there was a bit of resin on the rim from refilling the vat during a print.
The company stated where the cracks are us due to the screws and their injection molding. Some other explanations about the cracks also which totally makes sense to me. I did order the metal vat from their website it was just over 52.00 with shipping in USD. I’ll make a new post regarding the company here gouging people.

Printed a clear sphere with a hollow skull in it. Then put a little red dye inside. Experimenting...will have to be clear coated to keep clear.

Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me. I bought an anycubic photon 2 weeks ago. I have tried 3 - 4 prints per day and not managed to get a single one to work. I have watched many YouTube videos and still no success. The best I get is the first layer stuck to the film. Never once stuck to the build plate.

I have tried:

Different types of resin

Different starting hights

Tightened and loosened fep film

Changed fep film

Shook the bottle

Different room temperatures

Build plate re levelling

6 different models

Extended cure times for first 8 layers

Oh and my build plate came already sanded

Ok hoping someone might have some insight on this. I’m new to resin printing and ive gotten my prints to come out great however after curing they seem to go down the drain the outside is rough and looks like garbage. I have an anycubic photon s and Elegoo Mars. Cleaning them with mean green in an ultra sonic. Curing in the wash and cure station from anycubic.
