Bit of a two part question:
What would be the minimum outside temperature to leave a Photon printer running in a garage?
I just tried using my Photon in an enclosed area and long story short, the fumes got to me and made me sick. I used the basic resin from Anycube. Has anyone dealt with this before?

After a bit of advice please. I've been Using anycubic grey with no problems. Recently changed my build plate and fresh bottle of resin. Prints are coming out ok but I'm getting wafer thin sheets of resin left on the fep and floating about every time. I'm having to clean after every print ☹️ . Any ideas? Plate is leveled etc.

Hi everyone, my partner and I just ordered a Photon today. I'm reading the FAQ page in the group details and watching the 101 video on youtube from 3D print farm. I'm pretty excited to expand my 3D printing experience from my ender 3 to this. I will do my best to not post dumb questions that I can answer by searching the group/google first :)

Daphne took a bit of work so far. First I didn't like the idea of seperate body parts as it tends to take away from the details with joint lines. So I scaled it to 80% and put the body back together except the head that can be removed for painting. Then I hollowed it out to save on resin. The results are fantastic. Right now it is just held together with blu-tack for pics and is ready for priming.

Good day to all!

I want to share my successful experiment with resin tinting. To create crystals of the right shades for my fantasy creatures, I decided to try to color the resin itself for printing. Used HardLight dyes and # HarzLabs Model Clear photopolymer.

The color turned out to be very beautiful, rich purple as planned. It looks very interesting under different lighting conditions, as if it changes hue, sometimes filling with a rich blue color. Especially in daylight or from bright light.

The resin mixed perfectly with the dyes. It took very little to maintain good transparency.

The crystals were printed in a 40-micron layer. Printing was very successful, no problems or artifacts arose. Even the tiny crystals were printed very well and nothing was crossed.

Soon I will show the result after varnishing. And for now, a few photos right after printing and removing from supports.

Up until now I've run my printers in a light-controlled tent inside my relatively dark garage. For those who operate their printers in less light-controlled environments, like brightly lit houses with lots of windows-- does the UV resin have issues with the indirect sunlight inside your house?

I ask because I'm contemplating moving my printers to what is currently a brightly lit warehouse with diffused (translucent) skylight panels. I'm not sure what the actual UV is like inside the facility, or if it's enough to pose a problem for the resin. If I don't have to move my enclosure, I'd prefer not to.

Thanks.

So O opted against the paint bucket and I an printing out a resin curing box. The inside will be lined with mirror paper. Then led uv lights strung inside and then finally a solar powered turn table.

5 more hours to go in the 23hr print haha. Printed in wood PLA going to sand it and stain it.

I'm having trouble with the z-axis movement not working on my photon on some prints. During the first layers it sometimes gives a couple of beeps when it's supposed to lift off the bed and won't move before I shutdown the machine and restart it. With the same print it might fail randomly between the first 5 or 6 layers and then after numerous retries go through the whole print without issue. I originally thought it would be due to too high surface area on the first layers, but it's happened on prints with just a couple of square centimeters area and then be totally fine with a plate completely full. After a restart the z-axis always works without issue when I lift the plate through the settings.

Any ideas what I could try to remedy the issue? I have the 6A original power supply and thought that excess current needs might cause it to fail. Ordered a new 8A one, but would like to find a fix before that.

Is the Original Photon LCD directly compatible with the Photon S?

Asking as I got a Photon S which I could not make to print with a sharp details as my modified Photon does(Photon with added uv matrix from the S).
The printers have literally identical components, the difference is only the mother board, and one of the steps in tuning my Photon S was to add the the LCD from the original Photon which has thinner protective glass(0.7mm instead of 1.2mm).

When I installed the LCD everything seems to work well and printing fine, but don't have other idea what could be wrong, so could the LCD not be properly compatible at sub pixel level?
