I have just seen newer firmware updates on the github page
4.2.2
4.2.3
4.2.4
Are these tried and tested or just bug fixes

Help Request!
I've made several successful prints with the guidance of this group and the github page, but now I'm having a mysterious issue.
My printer does not seem to be, well, printing anymore. By that I mean my first clue was not hearing the peel pop from new rafts... so I figured the first layers never adhered. I skimmed the vat and fep and found no debris, so I retried the print and got the same result. Not even a trace of any printing occurring. Then I thought faulty LED, so I had it shine the test pattern. I see blue/violet light through my LCD. I've been running successful prints roughly every day for a week and have just been adding to the vat and carefully stirring/scraping with the spatula.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Has anyone else had problems getting anti-aliasing to work, with an AnyCubic Photon? (not S).

Mine arrived the other day and I was thrilled with the test print. I checked the device and it has firmware 4.2.17 already installed.

I activated anti-aliasing in Chitubox and sliced my mini with anti-alias level eight (pic 1). I checked the file in the file validator and it correctly showed AA level set to eight (pic 2) - so the model definitely sliced with anti-aliasing active.

Yet when I click on the image in the file validator, despite it saying there are eight levels of anti-aliasing, I only ever see green or yellow pixels (pic 3) not the anti-aliased greyscale image the screenshot on github shows (pic 4).

I think the issue is software rather than hardware based, since my hardware came with 4.2.17 already installed on it which is the hardware version recommended in the anycubic youtube video (pic 5). The two-colour display in the file validator just doesn't look right to me! Though maybe it is, I don't know - I tried clicking "convert" and forcing it to recalculate anti-aliasing: it did so, but the preview image is still only green and yellow with no nice gradients as in the app screenshot.

My prints are very much like the "before" photo, not the "after" one: I printed Boba Fett's legs 10 degrees off vertical (with his feet supported on the base plate) so the artifacts are not layer height issues - they look very much like anti-aliasing isn't working....

Any ideas, hivemind?

My Photon USB came corrupted and so I never had the test file. Is this available anywhere? I'm guessing my google-fu is weak because I can't find it in the github, photon website or just generally on google.

OK. Looks like I need to update the firmware to get Photon file format. What version allows the newer Photons to read photon files format? 5.0.2 on their website does not tell me which firmware does what. It shows just two bin files in it. I can never find anything on github.

Since I won't be able to unbox my new Photon for a bit, I'm taking the time to prep. I've been reading my way through this group and working my way through the github page. It seems that, like many things, if you ask 5 people you get 8 answers. So I'm trying to nail down what to have for a curing station. Money isn't abundant, but time is less abundant. So I'd rather buy something for $30 than build something for 10. Are nail curing lamps large enough for miniatures? (It's hard to get the sense of the size from the photos, and I've not seen one in person. Does a higher lamp wattage speed curing time (intuitively it seems it would, but that's not necessarily true.) Looking at this one: https://www.amazon.com/…/…/B07MZL98H6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5…
On other fronts, I see references to various software tools to use for slicing, supports, etc.; but not where to download them or which version to use. Is there a repository that is safe and has the latest or preferable versions?
Finally, while I want to eventually design my own things to print, I want to learn the printing procedure first. I see that there are multiple places where I can download figures to print. Is there anywhere that includes the whole file, supported and sliced and ready to print? I'd like to study some properly executed files so I have a better sense of what's right before I proceed to botch my own!

Thanks!

Greetings. Nice to meet you all. I have zero experience with 3D printing, but lots of experience with various crafting and tools. Actually I used to build scenery for the Metropolitan Opera, so my experience is more wood and steel for massive construction than miniatures. I got interested after looking at some of the miniatures that came with some RPG sets and thought it would be cool to make those. Some research led me to these printers as a good choice for that. (Sorry, I'm starting to ramble). So I put one on my wish list on Amazon so I could find it again. Nobody has bought anything from my wish list in 10 years. But it looks like someone bought it. This one: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07TVW9HGH/…
Bear with me- I joined this group yesterday and was reading the file on GitHub and various posts here, which lead me to wonder if the Photon S is a better choice. So here's the question: if someone gave you the AnyCubic Photon would you immediately trade it up for the S or keep it to start and plan to get the next iteration when it comes out?
Thank you!

I recently got my original photon up and running after several months. On the Anycubic page for the original photon, it lists two firmware updates. What is meant by "photon upgraded only" for V5.0.2 ?

https://www.anycubic.com/…/videosall-you-need-to-know-about…

Are there any other recommended firmware updates for the original on Github?

Thanks!

Just an FYI for anybody that uses custom support settings: Make sure you export your settings to a file prior to updating to the latest version. I've found that the upgrade wiped out my settings, and I've now had it randomly change settings on me 4 times as I work with it, and manually changing the settings hasn't worked to fix it, but re-importing the settings works fine every time.
Also, for anybody that uses 3dPrintingPros' custom settings, I have them uploaded to my GitHub repo: https://github.com/Taegost/Resin-Profiles 翻譯年糕
