We don't have Mean Green in Singapore and IPA is getting expensive and hard to buy due the CoVid-2019 virus situation.

So I am trying out alternative cleaning agent for 3D resin print.

First try.
Resin - MicroMake Water washable Resin.
Method - Ultrasonic Cleaner.
Cleaner - Mr. Muscle Multi Purpose Cleaner - SGD$4.90 (USD$3+) from local stores in Singapore.
I mixed 1/2 cap to 0.6L of water, ran the print in the solution for 3 min, rinse and ran it another 3 min and rinse with clean water. Part came out cloudy but much better than IPA, water alone, methylated spirit.

note - Water alone wasn't working for me even though this is advertised as a water washable resin, washing it in plain water leaves a thin film that peels and fakes after curing. This is solution is so cheap and safer than IPA. But IPA is still needed for wiping and removing resin on the work area.

disclaimer - this is just my personal experience and tests, your leverage might differ. Feel free to share you methods.

Did my first print on eryone's clear resin. Gorgeous. Printed very well with no issues that I can see from pre cure. 0.02 mm at 9 seconds. Probably could drop to 8 but eh

OK, a question for those using Ultrasonic cleaners and Simple Green. How do you go about cleaning the resin left over in the cleaner and how often to do you do it? I was thinking I would empty the simple green into a large clear tupperware container, and put it out in the sun to cure the resin (much how I did with IPA) and was wondering if that was the best practice for this kind of cleaner.

So far I have LOVED using Simple Green with the Ultrasonic. Just want to make sure I'm cleaning/managing it right.

So..... My 1/7 Bell 206 cockpit - I designed, and 3d printing...
Wait for it.... I initally started doing this with resin BUT multipart-functional assembly I was struggling with shrinkage and dimensional accuracy (even when using SirayaTech)

So..... went back to FDM and switched the nozzle to 0.15 and layer height 0.05mm - printed with Prusament ASA and Extrudr PLA NX2.

YES YES....I know, it's not Photon.
But point is, I started my printing journey with resin and kind of ended up stuck in the dogma - any small detailed prints, USE resin.
It's nice to see you can really push the limits of printing on FDM and get amazing detail as well - minimum loss of fidelity! And benefit it - parts are lighter and stronger :)

Moral of the story, be pragmatic :D

Resin exposure tests are interesting, I ran a photon resin calibration test, if I'm reading it correctly the sweet spot seems to be between columns 6 & 7 (12 -14 seconds), yet when I ran the Ameralabs Town Calibration prints I much prefer the 8sec exposure - the details just seem so much crisper, thanks for the heads up on this Frank Martinez Jr

Biggest print to date with plenty of resin left over. Dual Z rails completely eliminated the wobble that only appeared on large prints.

Hi team, any obvious reason for my supports failing? It happens for heavy and light supports. I do not have the print settings with me but i have added in some Flex. Perhaps too much? Poor quality resin? It does not seem to be a calibration issue?
