Daphne took a bit of work so far. First I didn't like the idea of seperate body parts as it tends to take away from the details with joint lines. So I scaled it to 80% and put the body back together except the head that can be removed for painting. Then I hollowed it out to save on resin. The results are fantastic. Right now it is just held together with blu-tack for pics and is ready for priming.

Working on a heated enclosure for my photon at the moment. Being in Scotland it never goes above 20C (even in the summer), making it difficult to print in a garage. The heating system is based around a 260mm FDM bed, which the Photon will sit on. Planning 2 sensors for this, one at the top, above the Photon and the one already in the heated plate. Plan is for the plate to stay below 30C and the enclosure between 20C and 25C. I'll possibly add a switch to the printer, so that when a job is finished it vents the enclosure outside through a filter and switches everything off.
Has anyone done anything similar? I will be making custom PCBs for this, so might be selling them if anyone else is interested.

We don't have Mean Green in Singapore and IPA is getting expensive and hard to buy due the CoVid-2019 virus situation.

So I am trying out alternative cleaning agent for 3D resin print.

First try.
Resin - MicroMake Water washable Resin.
Method - Ultrasonic Cleaner.
Cleaner - Mr. Muscle Multi Purpose Cleaner - SGD$4.90 (USD$3+) from local stores in Singapore.
I mixed 1/2 cap to 0.6L of water, ran the print in the solution for 3 min, rinse and ran it another 3 min and rinse with clean water. Part came out cloudy but much better than IPA, water alone, methylated spirit.

note - Water alone wasn't working for me even though this is advertised as a water washable resin, washing it in plain water leaves a thin film that peels and fakes after curing. This is solution is so cheap and safer than IPA. But IPA is still needed for wiping and removing resin on the work area.

disclaimer - this is just my personal experience and tests, your leverage might differ. Feel free to share you methods.

Update: it is working again after leaving it unplugged over night. What I think happened was after aborting my last print I pulled the USB before it was done the full abort cycle so the file was stuck in whatever cache is in the printer. I did unplug the machine before but must not have left it unplugged long enough.
Need some help. I unplugged my USB from my printer and the screen showed some error about the USB being removed (I like an idiot did not take a picture of what it said). But as I had just removed it I just closed it and moved on. Now my printer will not read the files on my USB. It detects them but when I click print it says failed to open file. I have tried 2 USB stick that were both working using files that worked before, I am running 5.0.2 firmware version. Time for a service ticket or has anyone seen this before and knows how to fix i?

Hi Guys, this is going to be interesting.

So as you know I design a lot of scale parts for my RC helis - this means parts are exposed to vibration, elements, wind - the works.
So far for the small scale fittings I was doing prints on Anycubic Photon (Ameralabs and Siraya resins) and if something had more curviture or was bigger - Peopoly Moai.
FDM was used only for big parts. Now after finishing building my e3d tool changer I decided to optimized my Prusa MK3S for fine detail printing
- prints with ASA
- layer height of 0.05mm (most of my photon prints i do at 0.04 or 0.05)
- 0.15mm nozzle (so twice the diameter of Peopoly Moai laser, photon res is 0.047 by 0.047 but obviously this means aliasing)

I wanted to see how much detail I can get
And I do have to say - to a naked eye there is no loss of fidelity, even under a microscope the difference in detail is managable.

Prints have to be done with ABS or ASA (petg or pla may clog)
Benefits
- parts are lighter, the wire cutter on fdm was 3g vs 8g resin (ASA density is 1.09g/cm3 vs resin that is on 1.35,also can do very thing permiters i.e 0.45mm)
- parts are stronger

Drawback
- marginal loss of fidelity
- print times on average 3x of how long it would tool on photon with 12s exposure.

Oh, acetone smoothing on more organic parts - wow!
