Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » HMI

Preparing some stl's for print when my anycubic gets here on Thursday. I've never printed in resin before and had a few questions. These are all in regards to 15mm miniatures.
Should I hollow the the model in meshmixer or chitubox? Should I generate supports in meshmixer or chitubox. Do I filter the resin after each print, as in empty the reservoir through a filter back into the bottle and fill it back up. Can anyone one point me to a good series on youtube for basic use and maintenance of the anycubic photon. 翻譯年糕

Hi there,

I would like to share some experience that may be of a help in some cases.

OK, while waiting for my printer to arrive I've put a lot of time in experiments with software and files.

I've had real hard time trying to make Chitubox to work properly on my computer - it's a Win 7 Ultimate Lenovo laptop, decent enough for modelling. But Chitu acted weird - especially in placing and managing supports. Anyway, there might be more issues that I'm not aware since I haven't printed any files yet.

So, after many tinkering and installs/uninstalls I got it finally working nice and smooth last night.

The simple solution - I have installed the 32bit version of Chitu 1.5.

Why did I persist on Chitu? Because I like it very much - simple and efficient. Meshmixer is great but Chitubox is just friendly and offers a lot of control support-wise.

I hope all this could help someone fighting similar issues.

Thanks everyone here for sharing priceless knowledge!

XL King Gidorah print done! 5 separate pieces, 4 prys off the build plate, ~36 hours total. Spent a lot of time in meshmixer getting the mating surfaces as flat as possible-still required a little sanding. Still, making improvements!

Currently did some hollow work in Chitu and had a lot of issues which lead me to this. To slice a Chitu hollowed model in Anycubic, you will get obvious error layers and this will impact your print, because sometimes the triangle goes out of the whole section. The model hollowed in Meshmixer has not such issue. Anybody experience something similar? ?

After the test print, and assuming everything goes right, I'm going to compare 3 different types of supports. Meshmixer, Pruseslicer, and ChiTuBox.

Everything baring the base was printed on the photon which was printed on the Ender 3 pro.

I had to cut the torso and the right leg in Meshmixer to accommodate the build plate.

Painted by myself - Not my finest work, Rush job tbh as I had another project waiting and was eager to start.

Anybody good with Fusion 360 in here? i have been having a play and have finally created the shape i want to print. I know it would be too much filled. Whats the next step for me now, can i save this and open in meshmixer to hollow for printing? Is it best to do it in two peices as a friend suggested. I would like to print it then cast it with proxy. Suggestions welcome TIA

Hey guys,

I’m experiencing something weird. As you can see from the print, the X/Y dimensions are off but Z is OK. I measured them in meshmixer to double check the actual file I used to print and it showed correct size as my cad. Does anyone know what causes this? It was not the first print with this issue. Thank you.

Hi everyone. I seem to be having a weird problem here. I have made sure if was level to the bed and that the bed was level even took it through meshmixer and did find a few errors. Took it into tinkercad and rebuilt it and still this keeps happening. I have tried 2 different photons and 2 different resins all with the same result. I'm not sure if it's moving during print but if so why on both machines also the error is the same everytime. Has this happened to anyone else.?
