Sorry if this is a stupid question. I’m replacing the fan at the base of the Photon. But I can’t remember if the fan is suppose to be pushing or drawing air. ???

抱歉, 如果這是個愚蠢的問題. 我要更換光子底部的球迷. 但我不記得球迷是應該是在推還是抽出空氣???

Hi guys.
Might be a stupid question, but have to ask.

Are supports change if I save them to stl and load them in another program?
What I meant to do is start in pursaslicer with some supports, save in stl and add supports in chitubox. Does this work?? Or pursa supports then became odd dimensions??

Thanks

So I'll rapid print without changing cleaning my tank but since i use the photon grey resin, ill notice the color separation and just stick my finger in the vat to stir it up and feel for solidified resin. Am i normal?

And yet more stoopid Nu-B questions:
1) Does the example cube stl that comes with the printer actually need supports? The manual says it's optional
2) What size USB will this printer read from?

Stupid question of the day folks. Please someone tell me why there is a ball joint on the print plate? Why is it there?

It looks like the #1 complaint from users is about the crazy effort that can go into leveling these devices.

When I tighten this joint during leveling I can see the right of the plate lift a micron or two.

The second most discussed mod is one to remove this ball joint.

Even the S has a balljoint!!!

Please help out a simple Photon classic user. I cannot find this answer anywhere.

I've browsed I can't find anything to help.
Got a new photon the original one, printed the test cube, all came out good. Did a second print of a model part, all came out good.
Since then 5 prints failed, I'm just left with a thin layer of resin on the fep and nothing on the build plate.
I'm using mesh mixer for modelling exporting it as an STL and using the slicer that came on the USB for supports and slicing.

I've not changed any of the slicer settings so it's still
0.05 layer thickness
8 normal exposure time
1 off time
50 bottom exposure time
8 bottom layers

Am I just missing something stupid?

The Skunkworx passes newest benchmark with seemingly little effort!
After what seems like months in redesign delay's and processing setbacks, the research and development department at area 52 at the now famous Skunkworx aeronautics modeling studios released a statement today on the recently released x20 Dyna-soar.
I spoke to lead engineer Robert Small today and he told me everything is actually progressing at a fairly quick rate given the unexpected and rapid rate of both changes and failures. It may not seem like it to you but to those of us behind the curtain it's a little like knowing we're winning an Olympic sprint all while stumbling over untied shoelaces!

I’ve started to try and print my own dice and the numbers are turning out not as crisp or defined as I’d like. Any tips?
Photon with Monocure Rapid Grey. I’ll attach a picture of settings that I stole from another user.

I’ve been having a lot of trouble with excess resin on my prints, and I’m not sure what it is I’m doing wrong.
Whichever side of the model is facing the build plate ends up covered in extra cured resin by the time the print is finished, which deforms the surface and affects details. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do about it?

I’m using the original Photon with Monocure Rapid Grey resin, which I pre-warm and shake. My printer is in a warm room (it’s summer here in Australia) and I cover the printer windows to make sure no sunlight leaks in if I’m printing during the day.
I’ve attached my printing settings, which I got from the Monocure website.

Latest print, a Gothic Succubus Skull I found on Thingiverse (link below). Still have some clean up to do then it'll be painted. I'll actually be painting a couple of these differently so that should be interesting ;) .

Printed with Monocure Rapid Grey, completely solid, PrusaSlicer auto supports.
