Some help please!
I setup the photon and tried to do the sample cube that's on the usb drive with complete failure. Nothing stuck to the build plate at all but this (see photo) was stuck to fep.
The resin seems really thick. Is it supposed to be a really thick consistency?
I'm guessing my problem is levelling and I didn't go low enough maybe?
Any help would be great. Thanks.

This is an interesting one.
Ages ago I was amazed by the quality of the Makerbot 3D printers but they were a way too expensive. Yesterday I tried to print with my Photon S and grey resin the famous Makerbolt sample.
The print came out beautifully but there is a slightly mismatch between the measurement and fitting between the fdm and resin version.
I was clearly expecting the tolerance to be different but here’s the interesting part. the resin version doesn’t fit together! Check out these images: you can see the difference in sizes but funny enough the fdm nut does fit the resin bolt! so it looks like. What’s going on here?

In the images the white and orange are the fdm makerbolt and the grey are the resin one

Any advice here? Thanks!

Does anyone know where to get the Formlabs sample ball joint model? Its for their durable resin. I would like to print it on a cheaper machine with cheaper resin to compare. Thanks!

Greetings! Thanks for the approval.
I owned a Photon for about 6 months now but lately I'm having troubles with failed print. What happened are mostly there are no objects on the build plate/only support like the picture, but the rest of the print are stuck to the resin vat. I only succeeded once when I tried reprint the sample model from Anycubic.

I've tried re-calibrate the bed and also cleaning the resin vat (I'm still having problem for this, always get cloudy) several times. Also tried the setting from the Google Docs but to no avail. I've also updated the firmware from the official website several days ago, but now I got "Z-zero is decided by trigger position," when tapping the Z=0 icon.
I also sometimes heard that the model is kinda like sticky to the film when the bed is rising. I've also tried printing older file that have been printed successfully before, but now it always failed.
Currently I've identified possible problems: Bed not level enough Film in the resin vat is not clear enough I got resin leak once, I'm worried this some of the resin got into the printer. But the this failed printing problem already happened before the leak happened. Since I always clean the vat and scrapper after print with IPA, I'm worried it got mixed into the resin I'm worried the printer have some problem since I've updated the firmware (the Z-zero is decided by trigger position)
Thanks!

Photon Newbie since 24H !

Hello Makers :)
I would share my first experience with my Photon arrived yesterday morning.

Just to introduce myself, having 2 FDM printers and playing since 2 years. My Hobby is figurine and tabletop.

So... My choice was on Photon and not Photon S because of the long experience YOU have here and different existing software and price is low (and for the difference, i can have more resin bootleS)

Photon arrived in V4.2.3_LCD.0/F2.5 and i upgraded it to V4.2.17_LCD/F2.7 immediatly lol.
Ajusting Z Offset more easier than on FDM... (Except my Delta with AutoLevel :P )

1st Print:
I used the ChiTuBox with AA 8X and put a part + AutoSupport > Skin Anycubic Resin => Disaster... In fact, I did not take care of settings in slicer.

2nd Print:
Listen yours voices and just print the sample Cube => Wooh !! Really cool :) (Even if not crystal clear)

3rd Print and up to now:
Using the spreadsheets > Set better settings for Skin color > Printed a Ring and after 2 tabletop

Now: Tried to print the Orc but something went wrong with support.
Would be happy if you can put a link for better settings or How-To regarding Supports.

So... I'm in south of France and we have lot of Sun except today lol.... so, my prints remain soft for the moment and i ordered a little UV lamp in case of.
I read a lot on this group and thank you so much for sharing Good & Bad issue to permit me to learn.
I was really surprised when i can listen to the "Ploc" sound when bed is moving Up&Down but i read than it's a good sound for DLP.

Sharing some pics... Happy to be here.
This Photon is an incredible printer.
I would recommend it to start Resin at reasonnable cost & for the big family you are.

Have Fun !
GuiGui

Hi everyone,
I've just receive my photon-s yesterday so i've launched a print for the night.
As I'm not used with this printer yet i'am not sure how to fix the fews fails of this first print.
First I've downloaded the test stl files from anycubic. The external structure is great (exept some parts in a corner) but the internal structure is much more chaotic as you can see in the pictures)
Next, the resin has still in the vat for may be 12 hours and during the night (so there was not external light) but the resin has already plymerised on the vat and on the mobile uper part (it was quiet hard to remove)
. Is it normal that it polymerised in that conditions (resin: anycubic transparent green sampler)?
Thanks for your advices, since there is a few things to fix with my printer, I already like it :)
