Whenever I see people post pictures of clear or semi-clear resin printed I can never see the details, so I was going to prime this model first and then take pics, but then, I shined a UV flashlight on it (was thinking how to make a curing station using the flashlight) and I was surprised to see that UV light not only cures resin, but somehow makes it look solid and coated with primer! Yay! So that's why the lighting is weird here. A Nolzur's Marvelous Unpainted Elf Rogue is in the picture for scale...this sculpt is gorgeous, and I added an open treasure chest from..somewhere, can't remember where I got the stl, but I merged the chest, the base and the figure in 3DBuilder and printed it all as one solid piece :)

Hope you all enjoy

Ok something weird, I had a print that came out perfect (in terms of adhesion and supports)...but it came out about 20% of the width it should have been, so height was right length was right, width as way off. Figured I must have configured something wrong, re-checked all my settings, everything looked perfect, so I printed again...this time with 2 models on the plate, again they came out "skinny" as hell. Can anyone help? Screenshots of the settings and the print...

Ok so after my idiot mistake of stopping a perfect print, I started again since I was going to bed so I could wake up to my next perfect print..instead I got this..WTF?!? I know it looks like magic so I'll expect a few goofy comments...but if someone could give me real technical help I'd greatly appreciate it! Getting a bit frustrated now :(

Wow, I came to publicly shame myself. I pulled just about the stupidest trick you can do with a Photon. Being a noob and having 2 failed prints, I just looked into my Photon and thought the print was failing again. So, not wanting to waste resin (or time) I figured I'd stop, clean up and try again. Well, the print wasn't failing as I thought peering in, I actually stopped a perfect print 70% of the way through. Not having one of those things that you flog yourself with, I just figured I'd vent here and be publicly humiliated.

Ok, so I guess it WAS too easy. 2nd print was this Ogre. As you can see adhesion to the bed was no problem (the base of all the supports is there as far as I can tell), and thus I don't know what the problem was, if someone could please help I'd greatly appreciate it!

Siraya Blu. 05mm height, 12 seconds per layer, 60 seconds bottom layer with 4 layers. Photo of it in Chitubox and photo of what printed before I saw it and hit the panic button...I very carefully added medium supports, used the validator and added a support on absolutely every island.

So when I was slicing my dwarf, I wanted to add some light supports in his mouth, I played with the support settings quite a bit, but I just couldn't add supports in there, can someone please enlighten me? Thanks!

PS - I know I should angle him, but I just did this quick to show what I was talking about. On my print attempt that is running now I angled him back 45 degrees

Photon is such a different world from FDM, opened my printer (I had watched videos on leveling, which is stupid easy anyway), leveled it in about 2 minutes, and fired up a print. I know it's not smart but I was too excited to do the damn test cube, went right for a berserker dwarf! Took me longer to double-check the supports (and add a few where I found islands) then it did to get the printer up and running. My Ender is still printing up the exhaust port for my in-line fan and charcoal filter so I'm in a room with all the windows open and a strong fan aimed at my Photon, wish me luck! I'll be back tomorrow morning singing its praises or asking a bunch of noob questions about why my print failed....

So I'll be printing my first D&D minis tomorrow. I notice a lot of people printing minis at .05mm. Will it look any better to the naked eye if I do .04mm or .03mm, or will there virtually be no difference and I should just be sticking to .05? And if it's not too much trouble, could someone explain the "science" behind whatever the correct answer is, I like to learn as much as I can, thanks! Oh I will be using Siraya Blu if that somehow matters.

Photon is in transit I'm very excited. I have a nice solid table for it, do I need to put it on a rubber pad as well or is that actually detrimental in any way to the printing process?
