Anybody an idea how to clean VAT and build table without using ethanol or IPA?

Printed the last two weeks several times every day.

The whole house is smelling like the inside of a ethanol bottle.

I know there is Monocure Resin Away. But for how much is it enough? It is very expensive.

Are there other cleaning methods, which does not cause such smell? The ethanol is smelling worser than resin.

Any ideas? Don't knowing how printing will go in winter.

How long does the original UV-Light of classic Photon "lives", before it has to be replaced?

Also same question regarding the display?

What are the symptoms when that parts going defective?

For how many hours of printing are these components made for?
Anybody figured out?

*** Photon Firmware 4.2.3 ***

Hello,

I need your help.

Is here anybody having a Photon which has the firmware 4.2.3 on it?

I would need the EEPROM settings from that firmware version.

If there is anyone, I would explain how to backup the EEPROM settings to a file.

So that person would have its settings for himself as a backup, too. That can be useful, if after updating firmware the printing dont work fine any more.

Thank you.

=== FEP - CLEANING ===

How do you clean your FEP *without* making small scratches on it?

Even when a failed print is sticking on the FEP...

Is there a video that shows how to do it right? Or could anyone describe the procedure exactly?

Thank you

Photon Resin Calibration 1.2

(Link: https://github.com/altLab/photon-resin-calibration )

I looked over the files. There is a "test-mode.gcode" - file which executes gcodes on the Photon. After the test, the user has to execute "print-mode.gcode" on the Photon, to remain to normal printing condition.

Here is what I do not understand:

In "print-mode.gcode" are the following lines:

### ### ###
;(Acceleration)
M8008 I700
; The higher the acceleration the faster the overall print time. Too high risks losing steps.
### ### ###

Command "M8008" is setting parameter "I700".

And here it is: Some Photon firmwares includes such parameters files to set standard parameters on Photon after firmware update.

All firmwares i could see, uses the parameter "I900" for the "M8008" command. That is so in firmware 4.2.5 and in firmware 4.2.12 too.

So why does the "Photon Resin Calibration"-Utility sets this command back to "I700" instead of to "I900".

Do I see it right, that the "print-mode.gcode" should / could be changed, so that to command "M8008" parameter "I900" is set?

What is your opinion to this matter, Vinicius Silva ?

I would like to use the "Photon Resin Calibration" Utility and not knowing about changing the "print-mode.gcode" or not?

Thank you for your answer.

I need your help guys...

Bought classic Photon some months ago. Printed some measurement models, like XYZ-Cube 20x20mm. Worked perfect since the first time using Harz Labs Model Resin colour: sand.

Photon was delivered with 4.2.3 Firmware and worked OK.

I sliced with OEM slicer and with ChiTuBox 1.30. All was fine. I was able to print the cube again and again. It succeeded every time.

After that I installed latest Firmware 4.2.12 and I installed the new ChiTuBox 1.40.

I took the XYZ-Cube and printed it. It worked NOT. The supports was sticking on the build table and the cube was printed flattened on the FEP. The cube was teared off from the printed object during the printing process and was printed flattened on the FEP.

I printed about six times with different exposure and off time, but the print fails every time.

Then I read here, that Firmware 4.2.12 is buggy. So I downgraded to Firmware 4.2.5.

Printed the XYZ-Cube again and it worked NOT. Same problem as described above.

So I do not know what to do.

Leveling should be OK. Because when leveling would not be OK, it would not print supports and base layers correctly on build plate. I am using "Easy Z0" also to level. This is a leveling tool, that makes leveling the build plate very easily and exactly. (Link: https://3dgarage.shop/…/oth…/60-easy-z0-anycubic-photon.html )

Is there a known problem with ChiTuBox 1.40 or with firmware 4.2.5?

I'm using the Photon configuration settings which was delivered with ChiTuBox 1.40.

The photon made about 15 prints in his live, so display and uv-led should be in good condition.

Can not print a test cube for every firmware version and every slicer version again. The resin would not last for that, I'm having here. So I am asking you and hoping, you have an idea for me.

Thank you for your help in advance.

=== SUPPORTS === HELP === NEEDED ===

Hello!

This is the greatest community for the Anycubic Photon I ever seen. Great ideas and solutions are homing here. Thank you all for that!

I have some problems with my printed objects, when using supports.

Could anyone describe, how to make real thin supports, that are holding the printed objects good and are (nearby) not leaving any breaking points after removing the supports?

I do not like to file the breaking points after removing supports. Filing does change the edges of the printed object.

How do you do this?

I am using ChiTuBox 1.40, using light supports. Then I am removing some supports and adding some manually.

After printing, I am curing, then I'am breaking away the thin supports. After that I am filing the breaking points on the object.

I'm printing mechanical objects with high precision. So filed edges are not really an option for me.

I heard, that there is a possibility to create supports, that can be broken away and do not leave any breaking points on the object.

But I do not know how to do it.

Thank you for your help in advance.
