The beauty of prototyping. I designed these simple prong settings based on the dimensions of the cabochons (from the product specs found on the website where I purchased them). Turns out they fit a little too tight at the prongs even though the dimensions are correct at the base. The curvature of the stone needs to be accounted as well, that may vary from cab to cab, even when the dimensions of the base are the same. Unfortunately, there is information on height or curvature, only length and with. That’s also the beauty of stones like these...

Bottom line, I just increased the base size so the prongs are not to tight and will wrap around the stone nicely once cast. If tomorrow’s prints fit better, then I’ll ad the bail for a complete setting that can be cast and finished.
