Hi there! I’m working with the green translucent resin that came with my Photon, and I’m also considering printing clear resin tonight. The object in the picture is 4mm tall, it was cleaned in IPA (in ultrasonic tank) and it’s not cured yet. Layer height was 0.02 at 6 secs exposure using a regular Photon. I have a couple of questions, if you can help:

1- Is there any optimal workflow for clear/translucent resins? This looks too washed out and opaque. I like the emerald glossiness and translucency of the object just out of the printer, but now... It seems that there is a trade-off between detail (obtained with IPA) and translucency/crystality of the final object. I have heard about not using IPA (then what?) or not curing and applying a gloss spray. Any ideas? A bit lost here. I suppose that the workflow for clear resins apply to green translucent too.

2- Inside the white circle, it looks like the tiny pentagon has some negative space filled with resin. The holes are there under a loupe, but their triangular shape isn’t perfect. This could be overexposing, right? Or am I too demanding for a 4cm object with this level of detail? FYI the tiny pentagon inside the white circle is 4mm high.

Finally made a decent photo from all my Minotaur prints together and they look awesome! I'm so happy with my Photon! ? ?

I sculpted those models in Zbrush for my new STL monthly miniature patreon project for this month. Really long prints but pretty happy with the results, 0,025 Layer height.

Two questions; What is the recommended ambient temperature for the space the Photon S is in for best results. And can it be too hot? #askingforafriend ? ;-) I bought a second vat, but the seller by mistake sent me a second build-platform. Contacted them, got sent a second vat for the price of shipping. So; WIN! Can I use the second platform without relevelling if I make sure it is at least straight to the screen? Or should I not take the chance and keep it as a pure spare? Installed a replacement lcd screen in my photon s and in testing its showing nothing but blocked out. Googling turned up nothing to troubleshoot it. Anyone here know if this is correctable or did i get a bad lcd unit?
