Before I splash out the £££, is non-FEP as magical as people say?

I’m experiencing a problem with a print there there is a lot of suction due to the nature of the print and it’s causing holes in the walls. It’s printed flat on bed as that’s the most dimensionally accurate in the X and Y, Z is a little off but even worse if printed on supports. Current FEP is fairy new.

Print is with Anycubic Grey, 8secs normal layer, 35secs bottom layer, 6secs light off. Have tried upping normal layer time to 12secs but results still the same.

just a question for interest. i have read people talking about it being too cold to print well and to warm up the resin etc to compensate, but what about being to hot? it was 41c (for those not in Australia that is blo$$$y hot) here yesturday and i had this weird fail where it was printed fine up to about the time of the max heat then it was just a big blob, the previous print done overnight was fine

ok, set up my printer yesterday and so far have two failed prints. I have tried the Flint Read leveling method for the first print and the paper method for the second.

My prints are sticking to the FEP. Here are my settings as well as pictures of the file. I sliced them in Chitubox with their standard settings for the Photon S.

The first set of prints stuck and once i pulled them off they were not even so I assumed the plate wasn't level.

Im using Anycubic green that came with the machine and I and temperature is 62 F 16.6 C

Thoughts?

Well I have gotten around to printing and modifying my printer for this filter that uses activated carbon. You can see how the fan relocates in the bottom of the picture. I would say it is working very well as there is hardly any smell now in my garage while printing. Id say about a 90% reduction in smell as with some of the very nasty resins, a faint smell is there but NOTHING like it once was. One thing to note is I would recomend upgrading the fan to a better positive pressure fan as I cant load up this housing with as much carbon as I would like due to the fans poor positive pressure. I suspect once I do this and add more carbon I will be able to hit alomost 100% smell removal. I have also designed and installed a 100w PTC heater found on ebay to keep the print temp around 30c. My garage right now is sitting around 13 to 14c and this heater is doing a great job.
