**SOLVED** tightened my FEP up to 360Hz using a spectroscopy app (was at 315Hz) and 3 prints in a row with no goop

First complete print! The mech came out great, but there was a decent amount of free floating semi cured resin in the vat. Is this over-exposure do you think? Will follow-up with print settings and conduct the exposure test.

Printed with anycubic green, sliced with chitubox and run through the validator prior to printing.

I was running another mini through as my very first, paused it at 10% out of curiousity and noticed some semi cured resin clinging to it and sloughing off in the vat so I cancelled it.

Printing area is a dark office, blinds drawn, window is North facing. I didn't shine a flashlight in or anything, though the ceiling light is on. I don't think it's from UV light getting in from the outside.

Had LCD (the one for UV, not the touch screen one) issues and replaced it using the youtube tutorial from the company.

Afterwards, the touch screen stopped working. First time firing the machine up after installing new LCD and the display seemed fine but touching it did nothing. Made sure there was nothing disconnected inside and tried to fire it up again. This time it gives me a "Parameter Error" message. I click the only available button "Yes" and it does nothing.

Any ideas wtf is goin on here?

Hey guys!

//edit its Chitubox obviously c:

I'm having some problems with suppport placement. I'm trying to place something under the chin here, but regardless of how much i click I can't add a support.

Maybe something like minimum distance or smth is blocking it. Any advice? What setting do i need to adjust to be able to manually place one here successfully?

Thanks a lot and ahve a lovely day!

Well cr@p....started my first print of the test cube (after spending 20min finding it online since it wasn't on the stick). Checked out multiple leveling vids (three of them IIRC), plus a couple of print versions on websites. Was hearing the little pop or click early on in the print. Red circle looks like the base printed OK but then separated. Yellow circle was the resin hardening *as I watched* using a flashlight to show the base. Used the default settings for the resin that came in the box according to the spreadsheet. Thoughts? I *did not* clean the build platform with IPA first....Maybe that's it?

I raised a ticket with Anycubic support about the problem of '.photons' files not being read by the printer, it just freezes. I had a reply after two days asking me to send photos or video, which I can, for what they're worth, but there seems to be no way of responding, nothing to click to reply, no email address! I'm obviously being really stupid, but how do you respond to an Anycubic support ticket reply??!!??. Raise a new ticket?? Or what?

Hey everyone! A while back, I won another of Elegoo's giveaway contests for a set of their new plastic vats with non-replaceable FEP.

I received mine yesterday and although I haven't used it to print yet, I wanted the give everyone a sneak peek for those who haven't seen them or received them yet.

1. There are four to a pack and were packed in nice and tight and sandwiched by two pieces of foam.

2. The vats ship with a plastic protective film over the *bottom* of the FEP. That'll need to come off before printing.

3. The vats ship with very nice plastic lids. These plastic lids are great because they fit the existing vats also (although it is a tighter fit on them).

4. As I feared, they seem to have a slight warp to them, either from the injection molding process or from the tension on the FEP. I don't think it's enough to cause issues with the printing process, though.

5. It fits nicely on the Mars and the Photon, so it can be used across the two. If I had to guess, I would say it probably fits the Epax X1 too.

6. The thought of a disposable plastic vat kinda concerns me a little bit, because that's one more added bit that gets thrown away. I didn't see any marks for recycling, so it may be destined for the dump if you toss it.

7. This may be an awesome way to get cheap vats to quickly change colors/materials, and may lead to some interesting layered color swapping!

8. Thanks for reading and happy printing!

Hi guys. Sorry to bother again! I've been having quote a few successful prints, but I've noticed something.

On each model I always print a raft for adhesion to the plate. There are then supports beneath the full model. That said, the supports under the lowest point of the model never seem to print, so the lowest point is always submerged. The supports also seem to clip/shift oddly (highlighted in red). Picture attached. Does anybody know what the cause of this is?

I'm using the slicing software that came with the printer and wonder whether switching to Chitubox might fix this.

Build plate leveling distance question: what’s the right level?

When I set my Photon up last week I read the manual and watched a video where the guy demonstrated the manual version. That worked really well for me. I did not hear a clicking, and after the very first print failed I upped the base layer exposure from 50 to 90 and I’ve been having 100% successful prints all week. Only issues were my own doing like learning supports.

This morning I re-leveled. I feel like it was just a touch tighter than the first time. I heard the clicking sound that sounds like it’s pulling the layer off the resin vat, possibly it is the screen snapping back down? It was subtle but I wonder if this reduces the life of the screen.

I was printing coins stood on the end so flat surfaces, I put 11 on there. 2 runs of that were perfect but I heard the noise. I re-leveled and got rid of the click, we’ll see if it works as well as before.

Is it just - whatever I’m happy with results-wise? Or has anyone experienced a difference in detail one way or the other?

Changed the FEP today and it was cake! nailing full build plate prints in the first shot! Used this little tuner to dial it in based on the old sheet by just clipping it to the side (which was a solid B intonation) I basically tuned it the same way I would do my drums mostly by ear because ive been playing since i was 5yrs old .. haha
Anyways.

This is the tuner:
Snark SN5X Clip-On Tuner for Guitar, Bass & Violin (Current Model) https://www.amazon.com/…/B01H74YV56/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Yp…

In some cases cheaper then apps in the app store. Saved me a headache so why not lol.
